Mean Green Flying Machine

The Mean Green Flying Machine is an epic ground and flying mount added in patch 11.1 of The War Within expansion. It is a goblin flying machine in a rich green color, built in the signature style of the Steamwheedle Cartel. The mount is purchased from Lab Assistant Laszly at the Steamwheedle Labs in Undermine for 11,375 resonance crystals at Exalted reputation with the Steamwheedle Cartel.

The Mean Green Flying Machine is one of four color variants of the goblin flying machines introduced in patch 11.1. Each Undermine cartel offers its own version: green for the Steamwheedle Cartel, red for Bilgewater (Bilgewater Bombardier), black for Blackwater (Blackwater Spy), and blue for Venture Co. (Venture Co. Manipulator).

• Guaranteed acquisition — unlike mounts with a percentage drop chance, the Mean Green Flying Machine is bought from a vendor. Once you have accumulated the reputation and currency, the mount is yours
• Current content — the mount was added in patch 11.1 of The War Within and is part of the current Undermine content. Earning this mount shows that you are actively participating in the expansion's content
• Ground and flying — the mount adapts to your riding skill and location. On the ground it moves like a ground vehicle, and in zones with flying enabled it transforms into a full-fledged flying machine
• Unique color scheme — the bright green color makes this flying machine stand out among other mechanical mounts. It is the calling card of the Steamwheedle Cartel
• Available to all characters — once purchased, the mount becomes available to every character on your account

To purchase the mount you must meet two conditions: reach Exalted reputation with the Steamwheedle Cartel and accumulate 11,375 resonance crystals.

1. Reach Undermine by completing the patch 11.1 introductory quest chain
2. Choose the Steamwheedle Cartel as your main faction for building reputation
3. Raise your reputation to Exalted by completing side gigs, world quests, and weekly quests
4. Accumulate 11,375 resonance crystals
5. Head to the Steamwheedle Labs in the western part of the Vat District in Undermine
6. Find Lab Assistant Laszly and purchase the Mean Green Flying Machine

Lab Assistant Laszly is the quartermaster of the Steamwheedle Cartel. She is located at the Steamwheedle Labs in the western part of the Vat District in Undermine.

How to Get There

1. Use the portal to Undermine from your faction's capital or from Dornogal
2. After teleporting, you will arrive at the Slam Central Station
3. Head west into the Vat District
4. Find the Steamwheedle Labs building — it is marked on the map with the faction icon
5. Lab Assistant Laszly is inside the lab

Coordinates

Reputation with the Steamwheedle Cartel is part of the overall "Cartels of Undermine" reputation system introduced in patch 11.1. The system works on a renown principle: you build up an overall renown level with the cartels, as well as individual reputation with your chosen cartel.

Main Sources of Reputation

Side Gigs

Side gigs are daily quests picked up at the Slam Central Station. Each gig grants 50 reputation points with the Cartels of Undermine. This is the main repeatable source of reputation.

Weekly Quests

Weekly quests grant 1,000 reputation points each. This is the largest regular source, so do not skip them.

World Quests

World quests in Undermine grant 50 reputation points for regular tasks and 200 points for special assignments. The quests refresh regularly.

Story Campaign

One-time quests of the main Undermine campaign grant a significant reputation bonus. Be sure to complete the entire storyline.

Rare Enemies

Killing rare enemies in Undermine rewards 20–50 reputation points depending on the mob's rarity level.

Surge Pricing

Surge Pricing is a zone event that occurs every hour at the 30-minute mark. During the event, all players in the zone complete tasks to fill a progress bar. The higher the overall progress, the better the reward for each participant, including reputation and resonance crystals.

How to Farm Resonance Crystals

Resonance crystals are the currency needed to purchase rewards from the cartel quartermasters. Main sources:

• Side gigs — each gig rewards a small amount of crystals
• Weekly quests — large batches of crystals
• World quests — a steady source
• "Surge Pricing" events — hourly events with rewards
• Rare enemies and chests — an additional source while exploring the zone
• Paragon chests — after reaching Exalted, every 10,000 reputation points beyond the cap grants a Steamwheedle Cartel chest with resonance crystals, gold, and a chance at an additional mount

Daily Plan

1. Pick up all available side gigs at the Slam Central Station
2. Complete world quests in Undermine, prioritizing quests with increased rewards
3. Kill the available rare enemies — they are marked on the map with stars
4. Take part in the "Surge Pricing" event every hour at the 30-minute mark
5. Don't forget the weekly quests — complete them at the start of the week

How Long Will It Take

Building reputation to Exalted with the Steamwheedle Cartel takes several weeks of active play. The exact timing depends on your activity: if you complete all daily and weekly quests, the process speeds up considerably. While building reputation, you will also be accumulating resonance crystals, so by the time you reach Exalted you will most likely have enough currency to purchase the mount.

Choosing a Cartel

Important: to purchase the Mean Green Flying Machine you must specifically choose the Steamwheedle Cartel. If you have chosen a different cartel, you can switch, but progress with the previous cartel is saved — when you return you won't have to start over.
