Melmorta's Twilight Longbow — Transmog Set Guide
Overview

Melmorta's Twilight Longbow is a longbow from The Burning Crusade expansion. The model is rendered in a purple-twilight palette: a dark stave with a cool lilac tint, which is exactly why collectors prize this bow for transmog. It is one of the most recognizable "purple" bows of the early expansions.
The bow is a ranged weapon that hunters can use. In terms of stats the item has long been outdated, so today it is obtained purely for its appearance.
Source
The bow drops from Chrono Lord Deja — the first boss of the The Black Morass dungeon, which is part of the Caverns of Time complex.
- Deja appears at the start of the portal-defense scenario: he is the first of the "infinite" dragonkin that you must defeat over the course of the event.
- The dungeon is located in the Caverns of Time in the Tanaris zone: the entrance to the complex itself is at
/way Tanaris 65 50, and the portal to The Black Morass is in the southern part of the caverns. - This is a dungeon, not a raid: you can farm it solo, resetting the dungeon after each clear.
- The drop chance is moderate for splintered loot, but not guaranteed — the bow does not always drop from a single kill of Deja, so repeat runs are possible.
In the current version of the game, the Caverns of Time dungeons no longer require the attunement chain that was mandatory back in The Burning Crusade. At max level (90 in Midnight) you can head straight into The Black Morass and farm Deja.
Alternatives
Melmorta's Twilight Longbow has no known color variants with separate names — it is a standalone appearance. If you specifically want a purple-twilight bow, this item remains one of the most accessible in its color: it is farmed solo in a short dungeon with no group or attunement requirements.
To accurately compare similar appearances, it is convenient to open the item page for
Melmorta's Twilight Longbow on Wowhead and check the tab with identical models — that way you will not confuse similar but different bows.
Who It Suits Visually
- Suits sets in purple and dark-lilac tones — the bow supports a "twilight" color theme.
- Looks great in night elf and blood elf looks thanks to the mystical tint of the model.
- Harmonizes with leather and mail sets in dark shades, where you need a contrasting colored accent in the hands.
- Fitting for concepts tied to the theme of time and the "infinite" dragonflight: the bow is obtained precisely in this content.
Tips
The optimal class for farming is the hunter: it can use the bow and try on the appearance right away, but any character is capable of collecting the item into the collection.
Deja is the first boss, so you do not need to clear the entire dungeon to reach him: kill him, check the loot, reset the dungeon if needed and enter again.
To avoid wasting extra time, farm at max level — Deja dies in a few seconds.
Keep the daily limit on the number of dungeon entries in mind: during a long farm on a single character you can hit the cap and continue the next day or on another character.
While you are at it, check the rest of The Black Morass loot: the dungeon also has other weapon appearances from the scenario bosses.
