Overview

Mirah's Song

Game iconMirah's Song is a rare-quality one-handed sword from the classic era of World of Warcraft. It is a light short blade with a speed of 2.60 and modest base damage, so in the modern game it is interesting purely as an appearance piece rather than as a combat weapon.

The model is a narrow, straight sword with a slim guard and a neat hilt — the silhouette is calm, without aggressive spikes or bulky details. This profile suits the looks of fencers, duelists, and "light" armored fighters who need an elegant rather than a massive blade.

The item becomes soulbound on pickup, so plan ahead which character you want to unlock the appearance on. Once added to your transmog collection, the sword is available to all eligible characters on the account.

Source

Mirah's Song is granted as a reward for completing the quest Kirtonos the Herald — the final step of a short chain in the Scholomance dungeon. The quest offers a choice of two items, so if you specifically want the sword, be sure to select Mirah's Song in the reward window.

The chain works as follows:

  • The quests are taken from Eva Sarkhoff — a ghost that appears inside the Scholomance dungeon, located in the eastern part of the Western Plaguelands.
  • First you must complete the prerequisite quest Doctor Theolen Krastinov, the Butcher: you need to kill Doctor Krastinov and burn the remains of Eva and Lucien Sarkhoff on the special pyres.
  • After that, the quest Kirtonos the Herald opens up: gather the blood of the innocent, climb to the balcony, and pour it into the brazier to summon the boss Kirtonos. Kill him and return to Eva Sarkhoff for the reward.

The reward is given once per completion of the chain on a character. Since all the content belongs to the classic era, the Scholomance dungeon is cleared solo at max level without any difficulty — most of the time is spent on the route to the required bosses inside the building.

Alternatives

The second reward option for the same quest is an off-hand item, so it does not compete with the sword for the look but rather complements it:

This sword model has few separate recolors (variants with a different color scheme), and most thin blades of similar silhouette from the classic era drop from open-world mobs and early dungeons. If this exact appearance matters to you, the chain in Scholomance is the most reliable and predictable way to obtain it, since the reward is guaranteed rather than dependent on a random drop.

Who It Suits Visually

  • Suits the looks of light fencers and duelists, where you need a thin, straight blade without excessive decoration.
  • Pairs well with mail and leather sets in a restrained gray-steel palette.
  • Looks appropriate alongside a light shield or a second identical blade for a symmetrical two-sword look.
  • Contrasts with heavy plate sets — for a knightly look it is better to choose a more massive weapon.

Tips

1

Choose your reward deliberately: in the completion window of the quest "Kirtonos the Herald" you are offered a choice of the sword or an off-hand item, and you will not receive the second prize.

2

If you need both appearances, you can run the chain again on another character and choose the second reward there.

3

The boss Kirtonos is summoned by a ritual on the balcony of the upper floor — study the location of the brazier in advance so you do not wander around the dungeon.

4

At max level the entire Scholomance is cleared solo; a healer or a group is not required.

5

The fastest farming method is a character with high movement speed and strong area damage to quickly run to the required bosses of the chain.

6

After you obtain it, the appearance is saved permanently in your transmog collection, and the item itself can be sold or destroyed.
