Overview

Flarecore Infernal

Game iconFlarecore Infernal is an orange-lava version of the Burning Legion's demonic infernal. The item was added to the database in patch 7.0.3 alongside the Legion expansion, but it remained inaccessible to players for a long time and was listed among the unused models.

In patch 10.1.7 Blizzard officially flagged Game iconMolten Flarecore as a future Trading Post reward with a price of 700 Trader's Tender. This places it alongside other infernal color variations that Blizzard is gradually bringing into rotation, but the core itself has not yet appeared in the monthly lineup and is waiting its turn.

Why you want this mount

  • Unique infernal recolor — an orange-red variant of the Burning Legion's demon model. In the infernal collection it is one of four color variants, and without it the collection stays incomplete
  • Available without a boss fight — unlike the Game iconLiving Infernal Core and the Game iconFiendish Hellfire Core, which only drop from Gul'dan in the Nighthold raid, this variant requires no raid content or farming — just in-game currency
  • Top speed for a ground mount — +60% or +100% movement speed depending on your riding skill
  • Account-wide — once purchased, the mount unlocks for all characters regardless of faction and class
  • A collector's item for achievements — adds +1 to your total mount count and counts toward meta-achievement progress

How to obtain

Before buying the mount, you need to unlock the Trading Post mechanic itself and save up 700 Trader's Tender. This currency is earned by completing monthly tasks from the Traveler's Log.

  1. Level a character to at least level 10 — this is the only formal threshold for accessing the Trading Post
  2. Visit the Trading Post in your faction's capital
  3. Pick up the monthly assignment from the outpost representative — the Traveler's Log will open in the interface
  4. Complete tasks from the log: raids, dungeons, PvP, professions, emotes and mini-activities. Fully filling the bar grants 500 Trader's Tender and the bonus reward of the month
  5. When Game iconMolten Flarecore appears in the outpost's monthly lineup, open the "Rewards" tab, select the item and confirm the purchase for 700 Trader's Tender
  6. Use the item from your bag — it automatically unlocks the mount in your collection. Summon it through the collection menu (Shift+P by default)

If the mount has not yet appeared in the current rotation, check Trading Post news every month. The monthly themes are published a few days before the start of the next month, and Molten Flarecore will sooner or later land in one of the themed sets.

Trading Post — how to get Trader's Tender

The Trading Post refreshes on the 1st of every month. During that time you can earn 500 Trader's Tender from the monthly log and additional coins from the weekly chest at the outpost.

What to do for quick log filling

  • World boss kills — appear often in the log and take a minute at max level
  • Daily quests in capitals — fill points quickly
  • Battlegrounds and arenas — for PvP fans these are the easiest tasks in the log
  • Fishing, herb gathering, crafting items — profession tasks get knocked out along the way
  • Old content — "clear an old expansion's raid" tasks often land in the log, which pairs well with mount and transmog farming

Carryover and stockpiling

If you plan a quick mount purchase the moment it appears in rotation, start saving up early:

  1. Complete the log every month even if there are no rewards you need — Tender accumulates in your account (up to a 1,000 carryover cap)
  2. Don't spend Tender on minor cosmetics and mounts before the mount appears — 700 units will go all at once
  3. Top up your savings with one-time bonuses for refreshing Trading Post tasks and achievements

Optimizing the grind

Plan your budget in advance

  • The price is fixed: 700 Trader's Tender. Save up for at least 2 months if you're new to the outpost system
  • Keep 700–1,000 Tender in your account in case the mount appears without warning
  • Follow news sites that publish monthly Trading Post previews a week before the rotation

Tips

1

Don't put off the purchase — Trading Post goods are available for only a month. If you miss the window, you'll have to wait for the next appearance, which may happen a year later or more

2

Complete the log on your main character — Trader's Tender is account-wide, and log progress syncs across all characters. There's no need to chase points on alts

3

One purchase = all characters — after buying, the mount appears in the collection of all your characters regardless of faction

4

Check previews in advance — editors usually publish datamining of future months 2–4 weeks before the rotation. This gives you time for a final push to fill the log
