Great Greytusk

Great Greytusk is a ground mount from the Warlords of Draenor expansion — a massive grey greytusk boar with powerful tusks and a thick coat. The mount is a guaranteed drop for every player who takes part in killing the rare elite Gorok in the Frostfire Ridge zone on Draenor. The item binds on pickup and teaches a usable spell available to every character on the account.

The key feature is the 100% drop: if you manage to land even a single hit, the mount lands in your bag. The main challenge isn't the fight (Gorok is fairly weak and can be soloed even at current level) but the search: the rare boar has a large patrol area and a respawn timer of several hours.

Great Greytusk is valuable for several reasons at once:

• Collector's value. It is one of the few boar mounts in the game, with a unique "greytusk" model — a silhouette you won't find in the shop or in raids.
• A steady path toward achievement points. The mount counts toward the overall mounts-collected achievements and brings you closer to rewards like Reins of the Albino Drake and beyond.
• Guaranteed drop. Unlike many of Draenor's rare mounts, there's no percentage roll to get lucky on here: kill it, get it.
• Thematic flavor. It fits perfectly for Horde characters, orcs, hunters, and anyone drawn to the aesthetic of Draenor and the Frostfire Ridge wilds.
• An easy farm target while you wait. If you're sitting in keystone queues or waiting on a raid, flying the Gorok spawn route is a handy 10–15 minute activity.

Before heading out on the hunt, make sure you have everything you need:

• Character level: technically the rare is low-level, but to comfortably fly over the zone and reach the points, level 30 or higher is recommended; at the current level 80 the fight takes a couple of seconds.
• Riding skill: at minimum Apprentice Riding (the basic mount skill). A flying mount greatly speeds up the search — Expert Riding or higher is recommended.
• Access to Draenor: you need the Draenor introduction quest chain completed and your own garrison. If you don't have a garrison, start the intro chain through the Dark Portal in the Blasted Lands (for the Horde) or via the notice board in the capitals.
• Faction: there are no restrictions; the mount is available to both the Alliance and the Horde.
• Professions, reputation, keys: none of the above are required.

The easiest way to reach Frostfire Ridge is through the hearthstone to your own garrison (for orcs, trolls, taurens, blood elves, and so on, the garrison is located right in this zone). Alliance players land in Shadowmoon Valley and can fly to the border or use a garrison portal link through a partner, or take an Horde flight master after completing the story quests.

1. Prepare your character. Gear up in a current set (for the present 11.1 patch even a basic set is more than enough), learn riding, and make sure your garrison hearthstone isn't on cooldown.
2. Set up a rare tracker. A rare-mob tracking addon is strongly recommended — it will show Gorok being spotted by other players and play an audio alert. Without an addon, you'll have to check the points manually.
3. Teleport to Frostfire Ridge via the garrison hearthstone. Mount a flying mount (flying is available in this zone after completing the Draenor Pathfinder achievement, or by default at the current level).
4. Fly the five key spawn points in order — this is the classic community route:
   • 58.4, 19.2 — northern section by the Colossal Crater
   • 52.2, 50.4 — center, The Cracking Plains area
   • 65.0, 52.6 — southeast of The Cracking Plains
   • 23.0, 65.6 — west, beyond Wor'gol
   • 63.6, 79.6 — southeast, south of Grom'gar
5. Find and mark Gorok. The boar is a large grey hog with enormous tusks; it's hard to mistake it for the surrounding wildlife. Place a raid marker so the group gathers quickly.
6. Kill the rare enemy. Gorok is non-aggressive and has no dangerous abilities; at the current level it dies in a matter of seconds. If other players are nearby, just hit it and get the tag.
7. Loot the Great Greytusk item from the body. It drops personally to everyone who managed to deal damage.
8. Use the item. Right-clicking learns the mount, after which it appears in the collection and becomes available to all characters on the account.

If the points are empty and the tracker stays silent, don't waste hours on empty circling. A few tricks will speed up getting the mount:

• Switch game worlds (layers/shards). Join a group with friends on other servers via the group finder — switching shards often produces a fresh Gorok spawn.
• Use the group finder. In the premade finder menu, groups of Draenor rare hunters regularly sit under the keyword "Gorok".
• Combine the route with other goals. Several other rare mount carriers spawn in Frostfire Ridge (Nok-Karosh and others) and treasures lie around — sweep them in parallel.
• Log in during prime time. In the evening by server time, groups open up most actively, and someone may spot Gorok faster than you.
• Disable unnecessary combat addons. The extra load lowers FPS while flying over the zone; it's better to keep only the rare tracker and the map.
• Save the route as a TomTom macro. All five waypoints are entered in a single line and cut the flyover down to a few minutes.
