Frostshard Infernal
Overview

Frostshard Infernal is a mount shaped like an icy variant of an infernal. The mount was added in Battle for Azeroth as a reward for the collection achievement "No Stable Big Enough" and requires you to collect 350 mounts usable by a single character. At level 90 in The War Within the mount supports both dynamic flight and steady soaring, which makes it handy to use out in the open world.
Why You Want This Mount
First, it is a status item: the icy infernal looks striking and instantly shows everyone around you that you have amassed an impressive collection.
Second, the 350-mount achievement is an intermediate step between 300 and 400, and completing it automatically brings you closer to even rarer rewards.
Third, the collecting process itself opens up access to dozens of activities across every expansion: from Cataclysm and Pandaria raids to Dragonflight and The War Within world events.
Finally, the flying form and the icy effect make this mount an excellent choice for screenshots and for showing off in the capital cities.
Requirements
To obtain the mount you need to:
- have an active subscription and a character of any class;
- collect 350 unique mounts usable by a single character (only the ones you can actually use on the chosen hero count, not the total number in the journal);
- complete the achievement "No Stable Big Enough". Once the achievement is done, the Biting Frostshard Core item will arrive in your in-game mailbox.
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1. Check your current progress. Open the Achievements log and find the "Collections — Mounts" section. It does not display the number of rows in the journal, but specifically the number of mounts available to the chosen character. That is the number that must reach 350.
Step 2. Identify the baseline batch of mounts you can already get quickly. These include mounts bought for gold from mount vendors, racial mounts, profession mounts (Engineering, Leatherworking), and mounts from old raids that can be soloed.
Step 3. Clear the solo raids of previous expansions. Firelands, Ulduar, Icecrown Citadel, Dragon Soul, Molten Core, Outland — almost every raid up to Legion can be soloed at level 90 and drops guaranteed or frequently dropping mounts.
Step 4. Complete the world events. Lunar Festival, Love is in the Air, Midsummer Fire Festival, and Hallow's End hand out mounts from daily bosses and from in-game lotteries — it is important not to miss them on the calendar.
Step 5. Knock out the key achievements. Together they grant dozens of mounts and speed up the counter.
Step 6. Finish off the last 20–30 mounts through Mythic+ dungeons and the open world.
Step 7. Wait for the automatic delivery. As soon as the counter reaches 350, the achievement completes and the item arrives by mail within a few minutes. Activate it so the mount appears in your journal.
Collection Optimization
Plan your solo-raid route so you visit all locations in a single trip: Karazhan, Throne of the Four Winds, Ulduar, Dragon Soul, and Firelands in one weekly session, and the rest (with a weekly lockout) in a second one.
Don't forget the non-faction mounts earned through reputation: the factions of Pandaria, Legion, and Dragonflight (the Valdrakken Accord, the Dreaming, the Ancients) together grant more than 20 mounts for gold at maximum standing.
Professions (Leatherworking and Engineering) cover another 6–8 entries, and Cooking adds a mount from Nomi.
Useful Tips
Before you head out to farm a mount, always equip the "Lucky Charm" and use luck potions if they are available: many raid mounts have a 1–2% chance, and any increase to the drop chance saves weeks of farming.
In Dragonflight and The War Within some mounts are tied to seasonal events — keep an eye on the in-game calendar and on our guides section.
If you are choosing where to start after 300 mounts, the best returns come from: Mists of Pandaria solo raids (a guaranteed Elegon, a chance from Galleon), Legion and Battle for Azeroth dungeon achievements, and full completion of the Dragonflight campaign — the story rewards add 10+ mounts with no RNG.
And finally, don't forget to check the auction house: at the start of new seasons the prices of profession mounts drop noticeably.
