Get Muramasa

Muramasa is an epic one-handed sword from The Burning Crusade expansion, added alongside the opening of Sunwell Plateau in patch 2.4. It is a graceful straight blade with a slender, eastern-style edge: the model is a nod to the legendary Japanese master swordsmith Muramasa, whose blades were said in lore to be cursed and to awaken a thirst for blood in their wielders.

The blade looks restrained and elegant — without flashy effects, but with the recognizable silhouette of a katana. This makes it a sought-after detail for the look of a wandering swordsman or a mercenary duelist. The sword suits classes that can wield one-handed swords.

The sword drops from M'uru — the second-to-last boss of the Sunwell Plateau raid. This is the final raid of The Burning Crusade, located on the Isle of Quel'Danas.

• There is only one difficulty (a classic-era raid); it has no separate difficulty levels.
• The sword is bind on pickup, so you can only farm it yourself — you cannot buy it from another player.
• The drop chance is low, like most raid items, so be ready for several weekly runs.

At the current maximum level the raid is soloed without any trouble: the enemies and bosses of The Burning Crusade have long ceased to pose a threat. Get to the Isle of Quel'Danas, enter the raid, and fight your way to M'uru, killing bosses along the way. After the victory, check the loot — with some luck the sword will be among the spoils.
