Get Mystic Fang

Mystic Fang is an uncommon one-handed dagger added to World of Warcraft with the Wrath of the Lich King expansion (patch 3.0.2). It is a compact short blade with a curved edge reminiscent of a predator's fang, hence the name. The blade's silhouette is clean and not overloaded with detail, which makes it a handy "neutral" base for outfits where the main emphasis is on the armor rather than the weapon.

The dagger becomes soulbound on equip, meaning you can no longer hand it to another character once it has been worn. Armor class is irrelevant here: the dagger can be used by rogues, druids, mages, priests, warlocks, shamans and evokers — everyone who has access to this weapon type.

Mystic Fang is a random world drop from the Wrath of the Lich King era. It has no fixed boss or specific NPC: the item drops with a small chance from a wide variety of level-appropriate enemies across Northrend and the adjacent zones of that period.

What this means in practice:

• The dagger is not tied to a dungeon, raid or reputation — you can obtain it during a regular sweep of the zones.
• The drop chance for world loot is extremely low and is not pinned to a single number — it is spread across a huge pool of mobs.
• The item shows up on the auction house regularly: other players knock it loose along the way and put it up for sale. For an appearance collector, buying it from the auction house is the most predictable approach.
• Any character can farm the dagger — there are no class or faction restrictions on the drop; the level 29 requirement applies only to equipping it.
