Get Necromedes, the Death Resonator

Necromedes, the Death Resonator is an epic-quality two-handed bludgeoning weapon shaped like a genuine electric guitar. It is one of the few items in the game that completely breaks the fantasy canon: instead of an axe or a mace, the character carries a massive neck with a body in dark necrotic styling on their back. The item has a use effect that makes the character perform a metal solo right on the spot.

The weapon was added in the Legion expansion, and it remains an iconic transmog among fans of unconventional looks. The appearance is available to all classes that wield two-handed bludgeoning weapons — warriors, paladins, death knights, and druids.

The guitar drops not from a regular dungeon, but as part of a seasonal event — the Darkmoon Faire, which takes place on Darkmoon Island once a month.

• The drop source is the Death Metal Knight, a special enemy that appears during the metal band's concert in a cave on the east of the island.
• The concert starts every hour on the half hour — that is exactly when the Death Metal Knight appears on stage, and a group of players can attack him.
• The guitar's drop chance is around 2 percent, meaning the farm is designed to take many runs.
• You can kill the Death Metal Knight once per character for each occurrence of the Faire, so attempts are limited to once a month per hero.

The fight itself is not difficult for modern levels, but the Death Metal Knight summons waves of banshees that you need to avoid, and applies a Frost magic damage aura — at low levels a healer in the group won't hurt. At max level, a character handles the mechanics with ease.
