Overview

Nightfall Executioner's Halberd

Game iconNightfall Executioner's Halberd is an epic-quality two-handed polearm added in The War Within expansion alongside the Nightfall event in patch 11.1.5. It is a heavy blade on a long shaft with a dark purple glow and a dusky sheen along the edge — an appearance from the shared line of Sureki gear handed out for taking part in the Nightfall event in Hallowfall.

The weapon suits every specialization that uses polearms: warriors, paladins, death knights, monks, and demon hunters. The silhouette is classic for a halberd — a broad axe-head with a spike — so the item slots easily into dark-themed plate and leather sets.

The main visual highlight is the rich purple-twilight recolor. It is the same model as the standard Hallowfall armory forge, but repainted in the Nightfall palette, which makes the appearance noticeably gloomier and rarer compared to the base variants.

Source

The appearance is obtained from a vendor for the Nightfall event currency — this is the most reliable and predictable method.

  • Vendor — Vesper Churnmoat, the "defiled armor scrapper" of the Radiance of the Flame faction.
  • Location — Morgaine's Tears in the Hallowfall zone, coordinates /way Hallowfall 28.2 56.0.
  • Price — 1 Game iconRadiant Emblem of Service per item.
  • The emblem is awarded for the weekly quest tied to the Nightfall scenario: you need to take part in the event and help kill the final boss. The quest repeats on every character of the account, but the emblem drops once per week per character.
  • The vendor version binds on pickup, so you should buy the appearance on the character who actually needs it.

There are also additional sources of the same model for unlocking the appearance:

  • A bind-on-equip variant drops from the "Cultist's Confiscated Property Bag" and from the final boss of the Nightfall scenario.
  • An upgraded version (veteran loot) has a chance to drop from the "Radiant Bag of Service."

Who It Suits Visually

  • It matches dark plate sets with Sureki and Arathi themes from Hallowfall — a unified purple-twilight palette.
  • It harmonizes with appearances dominated by black metal and purple glow — for example, a death knight set built around dark runes.
  • It looks striking in bright paladin sets — a debatable but expressive "dark weapon in light armor" approach.
  • It reads well at a distance thanks to the massive head — advantageous for large races like draenei and tauren.

Tips

1

Plan your farm ahead: the emblem drops once per week per character, so collecting the entire Nightfall line will stretch over several weeks.

2

If you only want the appearance (and not the item on a character), it is enough to obtain and apply it once in the wardrobe — after that it is available to all eligible classes on the account.

3

The Nightfall scenario can be completed quickly both in a group and solo with an appropriate gear level — it is the most stable source of the emblem.

4

Besides the emblem, keep an eye on the "Cultist's Confiscated Property Bag" and the loot from the final boss: a bind-on-equip version drops there, which can unlock the appearance without spending currency.

5

The appearance works for several classes at once — if you play a warrior and a paladin, the unlocked model becomes available to both.

6

Before buying, make sure the right character takes the item: the vendor version binds on pickup and cannot be traded.
