Overview

Obliteration Beamglaive

Game iconObliteration Beamglaive is an epic two-handed polearm added to World of Warcraft with the Manaforge Omega raid in the The War Within expansion (patch 11.2). The model is built on an ethereal "beam" silhouette: a long shaft with an energy blade that echoes the architecture of the manaforge and the overall void-arcane aesthetic of K'aresh.

The weapon is aimed at specializations that use Agility and polearms, namely druids, hunters, and monks. In terms of stats it is a raid item at item level 170 with bonuses to Agility, Stamina, Critical Strike, and Mastery, but for collectors the appearance itself matters more: a massive glaive with a cold energy glow that reads well in any set built around a "technological" or "void" concept.

Source

The Obliteration Beamglaive drops from the fight against the Plexus Sentinel, the first boss of the Manaforge Omega raid on K'aresh. This is the final raid of The War Within, opened in the third season of the expansion.

  • Boss: the Plexus Sentinel opens the raid, so reaching it is the fastest route.
  • Difficulty: the item drops in Normal, Heroic, and Mythic modes.
  • Drop chance according to Wowhead is around 23-24% per kill, which is considered high for a raid weapon.
  • Limit: one run per week per character, but you can farm the appearance on several characters in parallel.

The appearance is tied to the difficulty of the kill: Heroic and Mythic modes give richer color variants of the same model. The Looking for Raid and Normal versions look more subdued, while the Mythic one is the most vivid.

Who It Suits Visually

  • It fits sets with a void-arcane and "ethereal" theme, the cold glow of the blade echoing blue and purple ensembles.
  • It harmonizes with plate and leather sets in dark tones, where the bright energy blade works as an accent.
  • It looks great on large character models thanks to its long shaft and massive head.
  • It contrasts with warm gold-and-red sets, a divisive but striking combination for those who want the weapon to stand out.

Tips

1

The Plexus Sentinel is the first boss of the raid, so to farm the appearance you only need to reach it and do not have to clear all of Manaforge Omega.

2

You can enter weekly on every eligible character, which noticeably speeds up collecting the color you want.

3

If the most vivid variant matters to you, aim for Mythic mode, but the base appearance from Normal is obtained much faster.

4

The appearance is available to Agility classes that use polearms, namely druids, hunters, and monks; other classes can obtain the glaive, but cannot try it on as a transmog.

5

The weapon becomes soulbound on acquisition, so you cannot pass it to another character; the appearance is collected by whoever actually kills the boss.

6

The high drop chance of around 24% means the appearance you want is usually secured within a few weeks of farming.
