Get Obsidian Krolusk mount
Overview

The
Obsidian Krolusk is an epic ground mount added in patch 8.0.1 of the Battle for Azeroth expansion. It is a large reptile clad in dark obsidian armor marked by countless battles. The mount is awarded as a reward for the meta-achievement Glory of the Wartorn Hero, which requires completing 27 challenges in the Mythic dungeons of Battle for Azeroth.
Krolusks are massive lizard-like creatures that inhabit the deserts of Vol'dun. The obsidian variant stands out with its black carapace and crimson markings — proof that the beast has survived many trials and been hardened in combat. According to Wowhead, roughly 8% of players own this mount.
Why You Want This Mount
- Prestigious reward — the Obsidian Krolusk is earned by completing a comprehensive achievement that demands mastery of ten Mythic dungeons. It marks an experienced player
- Unique model — the black krolusk with crimson markings stands out among other mounts. The reptile model is distinctive to Battle for Azeroth and is not repeated in other expansions
- Guaranteed acquisition — unlike mounts with a percentage drop chance, you receive the krolusk immediately after completing the final sub-achievement
- Available to all characters — once obtained, the mount becomes available on every character on your account
- No current content required — Battle for Azeroth dungeons clear quickly at max level, and many achievements can be completed solo or in a pair
How to Obtain
The mount is granted automatically upon completing the meta-achievement Glory of the Wartorn Hero. To do so, you must complete all 27 sub-achievements — special challenges in ten Mythic dungeons of Battle for Azeroth.
- Make sure your character has reached max level and can enter the Mythic dungeons of Battle for Azeroth
- Open the achievement interface (Y key) and find Glory of the Wartorn Hero in the "Dungeons & Raids" section
- Study the requirements of each sub-achievement — many require a specific tactic or group coordination
- Complete the achievements in each dungeon one by one
- After completing all 27 sub-achievements,
Reins of the Obsidian Krolusk will appear in your mount collection
List of Achievements by Dungeon
Below are all 27 sub-achievements of the meta-achievement Glory of the Wartorn Hero, grouped by dungeon.
Atal'Dazar
All Lit Up — defeat Yazma while all four shadowflame braziers are lit. Group members must stand next to the braziers in the corners of the room when the boss uses Soulrend. The flames burn for about 25–30 seconds, so all four braziers must be lit simultaneously and the boss killed quickly.
A Hex on Everyone — defeat all four bosses on Mythic difficulty while at least one group member is affected by the "Spreading Hex" effect.
Gold Fever — defeat Priestess Alun'za after the spirit of gold absorbs 8 pools of Corrupted Blood and turns into Fatal Corruption. Let the spirit absorb the pools, then kill it and finish off the boss afterward.
Freehold
A Sip of the Past — find three items for Cutwater: an empty bowl after the first boss, parrot feed on the platform of the Rum District, and Cutwater's dish after the third boss.
Ready Set Goat — set up the game board before the start of the boss fight to summon Goldtusk.
Pretty in Pink — stand next to the chests when the boss uses Cannon Barrage so the projectiles destroy the chests.
Shrine of the Storm
Breath of the Shrine — pick up the Breath of the Shrine in the first hall, avoid frost magic damage along the way, and light the lanterns before the third boss.
The Abyss Sleeps
The Abyss Sleeps — prevent contact with the awakened Abyss adds during the fight with Lord Stormsong. Lead the adds away from the group throughout the fight.
Trust No One
Trust No One — get the "Insane Dreams" debuff by swimming through Abyss orbs. Manage the 24-second hostility phase and control the 5 "Manifestation of the Deep" adds during the fight.
Underrot
A Sporting Survival — interrupt and dodge all of Elder Leaxa's abilities so that no group member gets the "Corruption of G'huun" debuff.
Angry Fungy — activate Mushroom (the mushroom in the upper left corner) by directing the boss's shockwave toward it.
Spore Loser — lead the rotting sporelings away without letting them die. Use slows and crowd control to keep the adds at a distance.
Temple of Sethraliss
Snake Eater — use ground abilities to uncover the petrified egg on the bones. Place the group under the boss for Toxic Breath and Blinding Sand, then use the corpse to gain a buff.
Snake Eyes — control the orb guardians and position both eyes closer together.
Goodnight, Sweet Prince — use the /kiss emote on the plagued frogs during the second wave of adds until one of them turns into a prince.
Tol Dagor
Not a Single Barrel Harmed — prevent the barrels from exploding due to fire mechanics. Lead the barrels away from Ignition circles, from the Ashen Flame cone, and from players with the Firestarter debuff.
Our Stop — do not move after receiving "Heartstopper Venom" at the start of the fight. Coordinate the immobility of the whole group.
THE MOTHERLODE!!
A Field of Screams — collect "Very Sturdy Kaja'Cola" before the boss, throw the ball to Footbomb Hooligan. Interrupt "Red Card" and quickly kill the adds.
Ahead of the Curve VI — dodge all of the main mechanics throughout the boss fight. This is a personal achievement — each member is responsible for themselves.
Waycrest Manor
Run Like Your Clothes Are on Fire — lead the soul-bound goliath through hellfire pools to remove the stacks of "Soul Harvest."
Alchemists Are Funny — use alchemical fire to burn the bodies of death-touched thralls before they resurrect.
Loss of Profession — summon and defeat the hidden bosses using professions with skill 75+. Available at Waycrest Manor: leatherworking (Hunting Master Grat), tailoring (Seamstress Joanna), herbalism (Gardener Lilith), enchanting/inscription (Governess Tabitha), cooking (Head Vintner Justin).
Siege of Boralus
Loss of Profession (continued) — additional hidden bosses: blacksmithing (Britik Blackanvil), engineering (Crusher 3000), alchemy (Liz Foulpot).
Stay Close — keep Dread Captain Lockwood slowed so she cannot use "Evasion."
Fish Out of Water — knock the "Choking Flounder" adds back into the water during the "Rotting Waters" phase.
Kings' Rest
Property of the Tomb! — collect 4 trinkets: at the dungeon entrance, on the platform before the first boss, on the ledge (you need a knockback from the spectral brute), and by the pillar after Shadow of Zul.
God of Wrapping — free the bandaged player with no more than one use of "Break Free" before "Open Casket" completes.
How to Keep a Mummy — place two players on the stones in front of the sarcophagi and fully fill the light indicators. Kill King Dazar when the right sarcophagus begins to shake.
Completion Tips
- You'll need alts for Loss of Profession — a single character with the required professions is not enough. Prepare several alts with skill 75+ in different Battle for Azeroth professions
- Goodnight, Sweet Prince may require several attempts — turning a frog into a prince does not happen instantly. Use /kiss on every frog in the second wave
- At max level, much can be done solo — damage from Battle for Azeroth bosses on a level 90 character is minimal. However, Trust No One, Stay Close, and a number of other achievements still require group coordination
- Track your progress — open the achievement panel and mark off completed sub-achievements. Some achievements require several dungeon runs
- Learn the mechanics in advance — do not try to complete an achievement blindly. Read the description of each sub-achievement and prepare a strategy before entering the dungeon
- Use the Chromie system — if your alt has not yet reached max level, enable the Battle for Azeroth timeline to access the content of Kul Tiras and Zandalar
