Get Obsidian Vorquin mount

Obsidian Vorquin is a ground mount added in patch 10.0.2 of the Dragonflight expansion. It is the racial mount of the dracthyr — noble winged warriors awakened from a centuries-long slumber in the Forbidden Reach. Vorquins are described as creatures revered for their resilience in battle, even against dragonfire, and serve as the favored steeds of the dracthyr cavalry.

The Obsidian Vorquin is one of the four basic color variants of the vorquin. It is distinguished by its dark, almost black coloring with a characteristic obsidian sheen. The mount binds when acquired and becomes available to all characters on the account once learned.

There are two ways to obtain the Obsidian Vorquin: through a quest in the dracthyr starting zone or from a vendor for gold.

Method 1: The Quest "Cavalry in Place"

While completing the dracthyr starting quest chain in the Forbidden Reach, you will receive the quest No Cavalry Without from the NPC Treysh. This is a level 10 quest available only to characters of the dracthyr race.

As a reward for completing the quest, you choose one of four vorquins:

• Crimson Vorquin
• Sapphire Vorquin
• Obsidian Vorquin
• Bronze Vorquin

In addition to the mount, the quest teaches riding skills: "Apprentice Riding" and "Journeyman Riding."

Method 2: Purchase from a Vendor

If you chose a different vorquin in the quest or want to obtain the mount on an existing character, the Obsidian Vorquin is sold by two vendors.

• Character level: 10
• Riding skill: Apprentice Riding
• Race: to purchase directly, a character of the dracthyr race is required. Characters of other races can acquire the mount upon reaching Exalted reputation with the Obsidian Warders (Alliance) or Dark Talons (Horde) faction
• Binding: binds when acquired
• For all characters: once learned, the mount is available on all characters on the account
