Get Ochre Skeletal Warhorse mount

Ochre Skeletal Warhorse is an epic ground mount of the Horde faction, added to World of Warcraft in the Wrath of the Lich King expansion (patch 3.2.0). It is a massive bone steed clad in heavy brown battle armor bearing the heraldry of the Undercity. Unlike the basic skeletal steeds, the warhorse variant is larger and equipped with a full knightly caparison, making it one of the most imposing undead mounts.

The mount is purchased from the Undercity Quartermaster within the Argent Tournament grounds in Icecrown for 5 Champion's Seals and 500 gold. To buy it you must play as an undead or hold the Champion of the Undercity achievement.

The Argent Tournament is located in the northeastern part of the Icecrown zone in Northrend.

1. Open the portal room in Orgrimmar and use the "Dalaran, Crystalsong" portal — it will take you to Dalaran (Northrend)
2. From Dalaran, fly north — the Argent Tournament grounds are in Icecrown, northeast of Sindragosa's Fall. The flight takes about a minute
3. Land on the tournament grounds — you will see the faction tents, training fields, and the Argent Coliseum

The path to the mount consists of two stages: first you complete the Argent Tournament quest chain up to Champion of the Undercity rank, and then you buy the mount for 5 Champion's Seals and 500 gold.

Stage 1: Earning Champion of the Undercity Rank

If your character is undead, access to the Undercity Quartermaster opens automatically once you reach Champion rank for any city. For other Horde races you must complete the quest chain specifically for the Undercity.

Progression at the Argent Tournament goes through three ranks: Aspirant, Valiant, and Champion.

Aspirant Rank (3 days)

1. Speak with the representative of your race in the Horde tent on the tournament grounds and take the starting quest
2. Complete three training tasks: "Up to the Challenge," "The Grand Melee," and "A Valiant of Stormwind"-style trials — they teach you to use the tournament lance while mounted
3. Complete the daily Aspirant quests, gathering 5 Aspirant's Marks per day. To advance to the next rank you need 15 marks — this takes 3 days

Valiant Rank (5 days)

1. Choose the Undercity as the city you will fight for
2. Complete the daily Valiant quests, which grant 5 Valiant's Marks per day
3. To advance to Champion rank you need 25 marks — this takes 5 days
4. After collecting 25 marks, take the "The Valiant's Challenge" quest and defeat the NPC champion in the lists

Champion Rank

After your victory you earn the Champion of the Undercity achievement and access to the Undercity Quartermaster.

Stage 2: Buying the Mount

1. Find the Undercity Quartermaster in the Horde tent on the Argent Tournament grounds
2. Speak with them and select the Ochre Skeletal Warhorse in the list of goods
3. Pay 5 Champion's Seals and 500 gold — the mount appears in your inventory
4. Use the item, and the mount is added to your collection

Since the cost is only 5 seals, you can buy the mount on the very first day you reach Champion rank — the daily Champion quests grant at least 5 seals per session.

If you are already a Champion of the Undercity (or an undead who completed the path for another city), the purchase takes literally one day — just earn 5 seals from the daily quests and walk up to the quartermaster.

Sources of Champion's Seals

To buy the Ochre Skeletal Warhorse you only need 5 seals, but if you plan to collect several Argent Tournament mounts, it is useful to know all the sources.

Become a Crusader

The "Crusader" title is awarded for reaching Champion rank in all five Horde cities and reaching Exalted with all five racial factions. After that, additional daily quests open up that raise your daily seal income to 12-14. This is especially valuable if you are collecting the 100-seal mounts.

Heroic Trial of the Champion Dungeon

The Heroic mode of the Trial of the Champion grants 3 Champion's Seals per clear. At level 80 in The War Within the dungeon is cleared solo in a couple of minutes. Don't forget to run it every day if you are saving seals for several mounts.
