Get Pale Thorngrazer mount

Pale Thorngrazer is a ground mount from the Warlords of Draenor expansion. It is a pale-colored talbuk with massive horns that feeds exclusively on thistles and thorns, making its insides as tough as its hide. The mount is purchased from a vendor in Stormshield for gold and Honor tokens upon reaching Exalted with Wrynn's Vanguard.

• Collector's value — the mount is tied to the PvP content of Ashran, which many players skipped back in the day
• Available to both factions — although the purchase is only possible on an Alliance character, once obtained the mount is available on any character on the account, including the Horde

The Pale Thorngrazer is sold by a vendor once two conditions are met:

1. Reputation — you must reach Exalted with Wrynn's Vanguard
2. Currency — 5,000 gold and 100 Honor Points

Thomas Riogan is the quartermaster of Wrynn's Vanguard. He is located in Stormshield, the Alliance city on the isle of Ashran. You can get there through the portal from your Garrison on Draenor or by queuing for the Ashran epic battleground.

Note: the vendor is only available during an active battle in Ashran. If you fly into Ashran outside of battle, the NPC will not be there. Queue for Ashran through the PvP interface (the H key), and once you enter the battleground the vendor will appear in Stormshield.

Reputation with Wrynn's Vanguard is earned through participating in activities in the Ashran epic battleground.

Main Ways to Earn Reputation

Killing the enemy leader Successfully killing the Horde leader in Ashran grants 2,500 reputation points. This is the largest single source, but it requires coordination from the entire group.

Turning in artifact fragments Throughout Ashran, artifact fragments drop from enemies and chests (traveler's backpacks, Iron Horde caches, scout's bags). Turning in fragments at the Alliance base grants up to 500 reputation points per quest. Quests for various numbers of fragments are available:

• A small portion of fragments — the smallest reward
• A large portion of fragments — a medium reward
• A huge portion of fragments — the maximum reward

Winning bonus events Side events (mini-bosses, point captures) periodically appear on the Ashran map. Participating in winning events grants 500 reputation points each.

Turning in PvP trophies From defeated Horde players you can collect racial PvP items. Turning in a set of such trophies at the base grants 2,500 reputation points and a reward chest.

Tips to Speed Up the Grind

• Collect chests — containers with artifact fragments are scattered all over the Ashran map. This is a safe way to accumulate fragments while avoiding PvP encounters
• Don't be greedy — when you die, you lose half of the fragments you have collected. Turn them in regularly, without hoarding too many
• Use zone bonuses — killing mobs in different sectors of Ashran grants temporary buffs that increase the number of fragments you receive (Vengeance of Ashmaul, Vengeance of the Gorians)
• Pocket flying machine — at the Friendly reputation level you can buy single-use flying machines from the quartermaster that automatically deliver fragments to the base. This saves time on the return trip
• X-ray goggles — at the Honored reputation level goggles unlock that let you see enemy players carrying fragments. Intercept the carriers for maximum efficiency
• Humans get a bonus — the human racial ability increases reputation gained by 10%. If you have a human character, farm reputation on them
• Holiday bonuses — use the Darkmoon Faire buff and WoW anniversary events that grant an additional percentage to reputation gained

In addition to reputation, buying the mount requires 100 Honor Points. This currency is earned in any PvP activity:

• Battleground victories
• Weekly PvP quests
• The first win of the day in a random battleground
• Scrapping unwanted PvP items from past seasons

Honor Points are an account-wide currency, so you can accumulate them on any character.

The Pale Thorngrazer was added in patch 6.0.3 alongside the launch of Warlords of Draenor. Originally the mount cost 5,000 gold and 5,000 Apexis Crystals instead of Honor tokens. After Ashran was temporarily closed, the mount became unavailable to new players. When Ashran returned as an epic battleground, the cost was revised: the Apexis Crystals were replaced with 100 Honor tokens.
