Get Pandaren Kite mount

Pandaren Kite is the Alliance version of the flying kite mount introduced in the Mists of Pandaria expansion (patch 5.0.4). Visually it is a huge blue-and-white paper kite, with the character holding onto its string and literally soaring above the ground.

The mount arrives via an automatic letter from Lorewalker Cho right after you complete the Pandaren Ambassador achievement. The achievement requires you to reach Revered with nine Pandaria factions — and that is precisely the main path to the mount. In Midnight, all of Pandaria's content is soloable and dailies are killed in 1–2 hits, so the whole task comes down to patiently accumulating reputation.

• Unique model — a huge blue-and-white paper kite, unlike any other mount in the game. The Alliance color scheme sets it apart from the Orc version, so you can keep both in your collection
• High speed stats — +150%, +280%, or +310% flight speed depending on your riding skill. On the ground — +60% or +100%
• Unlocks for all characters on your Alliance account — once obtained, all your Alliance alts can use it
• Collectible value — one of three kite mounts, alongside the Horde red variant and the Jade Pandaren Kite, which is purchased for 150,000 Timeless Coins
• The path comes with bonus rewards — while you farm Revered, you also pick up mounts from the Order of the Cloud Serpent, the August Celestials, the Golden Lotus, and the Shado-Pan, plus transmog sets and profession recipes

For the Pandaren Ambassador achievement, an Alliance player must reach Revered with nine Pandaria factions. The list differs from the Orc one only in the last position: instead of the Huojin Pandaren, you need the racial reputation of the Tushui Pandaren.

The Horde version differs only in item 9: it requires reputation with the Huojin Pandaren. That is why the mount does not transfer between characters of different factions — you will have to farm the reputation all over again.

Once you reach Revered with the ninth faction, the Pandaren Ambassador achievement is awarded automatically. Head to Stormwind and check your mail — Dafeng will send you the Pandaren Kite String

Onyx eggs — the main accelerator

On the Windward Isle in the Jade Forest, around the Order of the Cloud Serpent location, onyx eggs are scattered about. Each one is turned in to Elder Anli and grants 500 reputation with the Order of the Cloud Serpent. There is no turn-in cap — you can farm as many as you want.

Once you reach Honored with the Order, buy the Grand Commendation of the Order of the Cloud Serpent for 100 gold. The item permanently doubles reputation rewards from all sources for every character on your account — each egg will then grant 1,000 reputation. Similar commendations exist for all key Pandaria factions — grab them as soon as the option becomes available.

Friendship instead of reputation

Two factions on the list (The Tillers and The Anglers) work through a friendship system rather than classic reputation. Progress comes from personal quests for individual NPCs. This is slower than grinding mobs, so get them going in the very first days — dailies rotate and cannot be skipped.

Scenarios and dailies

• The daily scenario Brewmoon Festival and similar Pandaria scenarios grant up to 1,000 reputation with the Celestials
• Golden Lotus dailies — 4–5 quests per day at roughly 250 reputation each
• Shado-Pan dailies — about 6 quests at the garrison in the Kun-Lai highlands
• At level 80, all enemies in dailies die in 1–2 hits, so the physical run takes minutes

Tushui Pandaren — the longest stage

The Alliance racial faction has no dailies. The most reliable path is the tabard and old dungeons.

• Buy the Tushui Tabard from Adherent Hanjun by the Eastern Earthshrine in Stormwind
• Put on the tabard and run Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King dungeons. One of the most efficient options is considered to be Botanica — heroic once a day and normal mode up to 10 times an hour
• Bosses grant 250 reputation, elite mobs — 15 reputation
• If you already have an Alliance pandaren character with the faction partially leveled — use that one so you don't start from scratch
• Reputation boosters also work: the Darkmoon Faire buff, elixirs, and the Grand Commendation of the Tushui Pandaren after Honored
