Plainswalker Bearer

Plainswalker Bearer is an epic ground mount added in patch 10.0.0 of the Dragonflight expansion. It is a massive mammoth from the Ohn'ahran Plains, trained to carry riders. The mount drops from epic-quality Grand Hunt Spoils — the reward for your first Grand Hunt of the week.

The mount's description reads: "The mammoths of the Ohn'ahran Plains aren't used to riders, as their traditional centaur neighbors have no need for mounts. But they can be taught. And some even enjoy it." It is one of several mammoth mounts introduced in Dragonflight, and it stands out thanks to its distinctive pack gear.

• Rarity — the drop chance is roughly 1.6%, and your attempt to obtain it is limited to once per week. This makes the Plainswalker Bearer a fairly rare mount that you won't often see on other players.
• Unique model — the mammoth is fitted with pack gear, a saddle, and travel bags, which set it apart from other mounts. It looks like a true beast of burden of a nomadic people.
• Free to obtain — getting the mount requires no gold. You simply need to take part in Grand Hunts, which are open-world content on the Dragon Isles.
• Available to all characters — once learned, the mount becomes available on every character on your account.
• Simple requirements — taking part in Grand Hunts only requires renown level 5 with the Maruuk Centaur, which you reach within a few days of normal play.

The Plainswalker Bearer drops from epic-quality Grand Hunt Spoils. The epic version of the bag is awarded only for the first completed Grand Hunt of the week. The second Grand Hunt of the week gives a rare-quality bag, the third an uncommon one. The mount drops exclusively from the epic bag.

1. Reach renown level 5 with the Maruuk Centaur faction. To do this, complete the main story quests on the Ohn'ahran Plains and world quests.
2. Wait for a Grand Hunt to begin — the events take place on the Dragon Isles and change location every two hours. You can find the current hunt by the horn icon on the map.
3. Head to the Grand Hunt zone and complete all six tasks of the event. The tasks include killing mobs, gathering resources, and other activities.
4. After completing the event, you will receive Grand Hunt Spoils. If this is your first hunt of the week, the bag will be of epic quality.
5. Open the bag and hope for luck — the drop chance for the Plainswalker Bearer is approximately 1.6%.
6. If the mount doesn't drop, try again the following week. You get one attempt at the epic bag per week.

The Grand Hunt is a group open-world event added in Dragonflight. The hunts take place on the Dragon Isles in three zones: the Ohn'ahran Plains, the Azure Span, and Thaldraszus. The event changes location every two hours, so if you missed one hunt, the next one will begin very soon.

How to Find the Hunt

Open the Dragon Isles map and look for the horn icon — it points to the active Grand Hunt. You can also check the location through the Maruuk Centaur faction panel. The event is shown on the world map, so you won't have to search for it manually.

What You Need to Do

Each Grand Hunt consists of six tasks. The specific tasks depend on the location, but they usually include:

• Killing certain mobs in the hunt zone
• Gathering resources and materials
• Interacting with environmental objects
• Hunting elite enemies

You don't need to be in a group — it's enough to be in the event zone and complete the tasks. Progress is counted individually for each player.

Grand Hunt Rewards

In addition to the chance to obtain the mount, the Grand Hunt Spoils contain:

• Centaur Hunting Trophies — a reputation currency for the Maruuk Centaur
• Dragon Isles supplies
• Gear (item level 350)
• Companions and their color variations

Each Grand Hunt task also grants 15 reputation points with the Maruuk Centaur (90 points for a full hunt of six tasks).

Taking part in Grand Hunts requires renown level 5. This is the minimum threshold, which is reached quickly while playing through the Ohn'ahran Plains content.

Main Sources of Renown

• Ohn'ahran Plains story quests — the zone's main campaign gives a significant renown bonus
• World quests — complete Maruuk Centaur faction quests on the Ohn'ahran Plains
• Weekly quests — tasks from the faction's emissaries
• Centaur Hunting Trophies — turn them in to Hunt-Master Bazu in Maruukai on the Ohn'ahran Plains to gain reputation

How Long It Takes

With active play on the Dragon Isles, you will reach renown level 5 in 2–3 days. If you only complete the zone's main story line, that is usually enough to reach the required threshold.

Weekly Plan

1. At the start of each week (reset on Wednesdays), check the Dragon Isles map for an active Grand Hunt
2. Head to the hunt zone and complete all six tasks
3. Open the epic-quality Grand Hunt Spoils you receive
4. If the mount doesn't drop, repeat the following week

Efficiency Tips

• Don't put it off until the end of the week — hunts are available throughout the week, but try to complete the first hunt as early as possible after reset so you don't miss the chance.
• Join groups — although a group isn't required, events finish faster in the company of other players. Look for a group in the group finder (the "Custom" section).
• Use multiple characters — Grand Hunts are available to each character separately. If you have several characters at renown level 5, you can make an attempt on each of them.
• Track the timer — hunts change location every two hours. If you can't make it to the current one, wait for the next.

Farm Math

With a drop chance of ~2% and one attempt per week per character:

• On one character: 50 weeks on average (about a year)
• On two characters: 25 weeks on average (half a year)
• On four characters: 12–13 weeks on average (three months)

Keep in mind that this is a probabilistic event — you might get lucky on the first attempt, or it might take significantly longer.
