Overview

Prestigious Azure Courser

Game iconPrestigious Azure Courser is an epic ground and flying mount added in patch 7.0.3 of the Legion expansion. It is a majestic single-horned courser from the Broken Isles, clad in azure armor. The mount is granted automatically upon reaching Honor Level 70 in the PvP progression system.

In appearance, the Prestigious Azure Courser is a powerful steed with a sickle-shaped horn and armor in blue-azure tones. The mount's description reads: "One of the bold coursers of the Broken Isles, unmatched among the horses of Azeroth for ferocity and strength." The mount belongs to the family of prestigious coursers alongside the Bronze (Honor Level 15), Ivory (40), Forest (125), Royal (150), Midnight (250) and Bloodforged (500) variants.

Why You Want This Mount

  • A symbol of PvP achievement — the Prestigious Azure Courser is available only to players who have reached Honor Level 70. It is a visible proof of your PvP experience, on display for everyone around you.
  • Rarity — according to Wowhead, only 8–18% of players own the mount. Unlike mass-obtained mounts from raids or vendors, the azure courser is rarely seen.
  • Ground and flying — the mount works both on the ground and in the air. Its speed depends on your riding skill: up to +310% flight speed at the highest rank.
  • Free — no gold or special currency is required to obtain it. The only condition is your Honor Level, which is earned through ordinary PvP activity.
  • Available to both factions — both Alliance and Horde characters can earn the mount. Once obtained, it becomes available on all characters of the account.
  • A striking azure color scheme — among the seven prestigious coursers, the azure variant stands out with bright blue armor that is noticeable both on the ground and in the air.

How to Obtain

To obtain the Prestigious Azure Courser you must reach Honor Level 70. Honor Level is an account-wide system that sums up PvP experience from all of your characters.

  1. Take part in any PvP activities: battlegrounds, arenas, epic battlegrounds, PvP world quests.
  2. Wins and participation grant you Honor points, which gradually fill the bar of your current Honor Level.
  3. Upon reaching Honor Level 70 you will automatically earn the Honor Level 70 achievement.
  4. The Game iconPrestigious Azure Courser mount will be added to your mount collection automatically.
  5. No additional steps are required — the mount will appear in your mount journal as soon as you reach the required level.

Honor Level System

Honor Levels are an account-wide system that tracks your total PvP progress. Honor points earned on any character of the account are pooled together into a shared total.

How Much Honor You Need

The early Honor Levels require about 5,500 Honor points. As your level grows, the requirement increases up to a maximum of 8,800 points per level. Reaching Honor Level 70 from scratch takes approximately 400,000–500,000 total Honor points.

The Full Courser Lineup

The Prestigious Azure Courser is the third mount in the series of prestigious coursers. The full lineup:

Honor Level Mount
15 Prestigious Bronze Courser
40 Prestigious Ivory Courser
70 Prestigious Azure Courser
125 Prestigious Forest Courser
150 Prestigious Royal Courser
250 Prestigious Midnight Courser
500 Prestigious Bloodforged Courser

Other Rewards Along the Way to Level 70

Besides coursers, the Honor Level system grants titles, pennants, toys and pets. For example, at Level 25 you receive the title "the Prestigious", and at Levels 15 and 40 the first two coursers of the series.

Sources of Honor Points

Honor points are earned by taking part in PvP content. Different activities grant different amounts of Honor.

Battlegrounds

Random battlegrounds are the most accessible and popular source of Honor.

  • Random battleground win — around 150 Honor points
  • First win of the day — a bonus of 300 Honor points (stacks with the regular reward, for about 450 on the first win)
  • Epic battlegrounds — grant more Honor per match thanks to their greater length and scale

Arenas

  • Rated arena win — around 150 Honor points
  • Random skirmish win — around 75 Honor points
  • Arenas are faster in time but grant less Honor per match. They suit experienced PvP players

PvP World Quests

  • PvP world quests — from 500 to 900 Honor points per quest
  • This is one of the most generous sources, but the quests are not always available and rotate periodically

Additional Sources

  • Rated battlegrounds — wins grant ~150 Honor points plus rating progress
  • PvP Brawl event — a periodic bonus event that increases the Honor you receive
  • War Mode combat — enabling War Mode adds a bonus to the Honor you earn in the open world

Farming Optimization

Daily Plan

The optimal order of actions for maximum Honor Level gains:

  1. First win of the day — start with a win in a random battleground. The first-win bonus grants ~450 Honor points instead of the usual ~150
  2. PvP world quests — check the map for PvP world quests. Each grants 500–900 Honor and is completed in a few minutes
  3. Battleground streak — after the first win, keep playing random battlegrounds. This is a steady and predictable source of Honor
  4. Epic battlegrounds — if a queue is available, epic BGs grant more Honor per session
  5. Rated arenas — if you are a confident PvP player, rated arenas grant Honor faster thanks to short matches

Combining PvP Towers with World Quests

A combination of three tower world quests and four PvP world quests grants roughly 2,900 Honor points per day. At this pace, one Honor Level is earned in 2–3 days.

How Long It Takes

With active daily play (1–2 hours of PvP per day while completing world quests), reaching Honor Level 70 from scratch takes approximately 2–3 months. If you already have some Honor Level, the time is reduced proportionally.

Remember that Honor Level is an account-wide system. Honor points earned on any of your characters are pooled together. Play on whichever character and in whichever form of PvP you enjoy most.

PvP Bonus Event

Keep an eye on the weekly bonus events. When the "Battleground Bonus Event" is active, you receive significantly more Honor per match. Plan intensive farming for those weeks.

Tips

1

Play for fun — Honor Level builds up gradually through ordinary PvP play. Don't treat farming as a chore — just take part in battlegrounds and arenas, and your Honor Level will grow naturally.

2

Don't forget the first win of the day — the first-win bonus in a random battleground doubles the Honor you earn. Try to win at least one battleground every day.

3

Check PvP world quests — they grant 500–900 Honor per quest and are completed faster than battlegrounds. Don't skip them when they are available.

4

Use War Mode — enabling War Mode increases the Honor bonus you earn in the open world and unlocks PvP world quests.

5

Combine with other goals — while you level your Honor, you simultaneously earn PvP gear, Conquest, rating and other rewards. PvP activity is useful for more than just the mount.

6

Play on different characters — the system is account-wide, so Honor points are pooled from all characters. If you tire of one class, switch to another — your progress won't be lost.

7

Watch for bonus events — weeks with PvP bonus events significantly speed up your progress. Plan more PvP sessions for those periods.

8

Prestigious coursers along the way — by Honor Level 70 you will already have earned the Bronze (15) and Ivory (40) coursers. Enjoy the intermediate rewards as you progress.
