Get Preyseeker's Staff

Preyseeker's Staff is a two-handed staff added to World of Warcraft with the Midnight expansion. The model leans into the void elf aesthetic of a renewed Quel'Thalas: an elongated dark shaft with a carved finial and cold lilac shimmers that echo the void theme the whole expansion is built around. This is a weapon for agility-based specializations — the staff is available to druids, hunters and monks.

The item belongs to the rewards of the Prey system, a new Midnight hunting activity spread across the zones of Quel'Thalas. The staff drops from hunt targets, so its value for a transmog collector is primarily visual: a clean silhouette without excess glow that fits neatly into dark and arcane looks.

The staff drops as loot in the Prey hunt system, available after completing the introductory chain from Astalor Bloodsworn in Silvermoon. Hunts take place across the renewed zones of Quel'Thalas.

• Unlock Prey by talking to Astalor Bloodsworn in Silvermoon and completing his introductory chain up to activating the hunt table in Astalor's Sanctum.
• Accumulate echoes by completing world quests, opening treasures and killing rare enemies across the zones of Quel'Thalas.
• Start a hunt from the table and finish off the assigned target — weapons like this staff drop specifically from hunt targets.
• The Normal, Hard and Nightmare difficulties differ in how dangerous the target is; on Hard and Nightmare the fight is solo and the target gains extra complications.
• Each week it is worth closing up to four hunts — after that, progress toward rewards slows noticeably.

For finishing off targets you also receive the Remnant of Anguish currency, which you can spend with the rewards vendor Construct V'anore in Astalor's Sanctum on cosmetic sets, pets and mounts from the hunter series.
