Overview

Reins of the Purple Shado-Pan Riding Tiger

Game iconReins of the Purple Shado-Pan Riding Tiger is a ground mount added to World of Warcraft in patch 10.2.7 "Dark Heart" alongside the seasonal WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria event. It is an exclusive purple recolor of the classic Shado-Pan order riding tigers, made specifically for the Remix. The model mirrors the Game iconReins of the Blue Shado-Pan Riding Tiger, but receives a unique purple coat and dark-gold tack bearing the order's emblem.

The mount is sold for Bronze — the event's special currency — by Hemet Nesingwary XVII at any of Pandaria's Infinite Bazaars. Since the Remix was a time-limited event (May 16 – August 20, 2024), the mount became a retro reward and is currently available only if the event is relaunched.

Why You Want This Mount

  • Exclusive color — the purple coloring exists only in the Remix version. On live servers and in MoP Classic this variant is unavailable through either reputation or vendors
  • Speed 10 out of 10 — the mount grants +60% or +100% movement speed depending on your riding skill, meaning it travels at the maximum ground-transport speed
  • No Shado-Pan reputation — unlike the classic colored tigers Game icongreen, Game iconred and Game iconblue, the purple one does not require Exalted with the order. Simply earn enough Bronze on a Remix character
  • Account-wide — once purchased, the mount unlocks for every character on your account, including on live servers after the event ends
  • A complement to the Shado-Pan tiger collection — it completes the order's set of four riding tigers and rounds out the thematic showcase of pandaren mounts

How to Get It

The main route is to enter WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria, save up 4,400 Bronze and buy the mount from the vendor at the Infinite Bazaar.

  1. Create a Timerunner character in the Remix (between May 16 and August 20, 2024). If the event is reopened by Blizzard, the same procedure applies
  2. Complete the intro storyline in The Jade Forest and unlock access to the Infinite Bazaar
  3. Accumulate 4,400 Bronze through quests, dungeons, raids and mob farming
  4. Open the map and travel to the nearest Infinite Bazaar (for example, Valley of the Four Winds near Halfhill)
  5. Find Hemet Nesingwary XVII — he stands by the cluster of tents with mounts and toys
  6. In the "Mounts for 4,400 Bronze" category, select the Reins of the Purple Shado-Pan Riding Tiger and confirm the purchase
  7. Use the mount scroll — the spell Purple Shado-Pan Riding Tiger is automatically added to the mount journal of all your characters

Infinite Bazaar Locations

Infinite Bazaars appear in every major zone of Pandaria except the Krasarang Wilds. Hemet Nesingwary XVII is present at each one and sells the same inventory. Use the bazaar nearest to where you farm Bronze.

Zone Landmark Coordinates
The Jade Forest North of the Tian Monastery 41.5, 26.8
Valley of the Four Winds South of Halfhill 53.5, 50.8
Kun-Lai Summit By the Temple of the White Tiger 68.5, 52.8
Townlong Steppes Western island behind the Niuzao Temple 38.2, 64.2
Vale of Eternal Blossoms Alliance and Horde shrines 60.4, 18.1 / 86.1, 64.9

Color Variants of Shado-Pan Tigers

Purple is the fourth color in the order's line of riding tigers. The other three classic variants stayed outside the Remix and are available on live servers through reputation.

How to Farm Bronze

To gather the 4,400 Bronze for the mount, use a mix of daily activities and focused farming. On an active character the total comes together over one or two play sessions.

Quests and Caches

  • Complete story and side quests in any zone of Pandaria. Each task rewards an Infinite Treasure Cache, which contains Bronze
  • After the patch that added the 25% reward buff, all caches give an increased amount of currency
  • Don't skip the Bronze orbs in the sky — fly through them on your mount, each one grants a small amount

Dungeons and Raids

  • Pandaria dungeons and raids in the Remix have a daily loot lock instead of a weekly one, giving seven times more attempts at Bronze
  • The most time-efficient short dungeon is Stormstout Brewery
  • Among raid bosses, the greatest payoff comes from the final bosses of Siege of Orgrimmar

Focused Mob Farming

  • Tiger forest in The Jade Forest — a hyperspawn with a high density of enemies. Suited to damage specs
  • Goats in the Valley of the Four Winds — one of the most popular farm routes after the nerfs
  • Windward Isle in The Jade Forest — a parallel farm for threads, Bronze, gems and green items

Tips

1

Buy the Remix exclusives first — after the event ends the classic Pandaria mounts remain available on live servers, while the purple tiger disappears until the next possible launch. The "Remix Exclusive" category should be your priority

2

Don't spend Bronze on gems and consumables in the first weeks — your main resource should go toward the collectible rewards from Hemet Nesingwary XVII and Grand Master Jakkus

3

Use alts for extra caches — each Timerunner character earns its own quest rewards. If you have spare slots, level a second hero to double the Bronze from zone quests

4

Combine farming with faction tasks — while killing mobs at your daily location, knock out the Shado-Pan and August Celestials quests on the side

5

Check the price before buying — Blizzard adjusted mount costs several times during the Remix. Before hitting "buy," verify the current price in the vendor window

6

The mount is account-wide once obtained — as soon as the Reins of the Purple Shado-Pan Riding Tiger enter your collection, they will be available to every character on your account on any server, including live and Classic

Started playing back in Pandaria, when the pandaren were still a novelty. Got stuck on Monk because it's the only class where you don't get dizzy after a dash. Tries to manage both tanking and kicking enemies in the face.
