Quawks
Overview

Quawks is a flying parrot mount in a rich purple-violet color, added to World of Warcraft in the Dragonflight expansion alongside the launch of the Trading Post in patch 10.0.5. This parrot's model is also used for the mount
Squawks (green).
The mount's description playfully presents it as the "older (and somehow louder) brother of
Squawks, who seems to tolerate your company. For now. Best to stock up on crackers while you still can." This very text inspired the localized name in Russian.
The mount was originally handed out as the monthly bonus for filling the Traveler's Log in June 2023. In later rotations, Quawks returns to the Trading Post as a regular offering for Trader's Tender — it was last available in February 2025.
Why You Want This Mount
- A fully fledged flying mount — Quawks uses standard flight speeds (+150%, +280% or +310% depending on your riding skill) and works in any zone where flying is allowed
- A bright, unique color — the rich purple-violet parrot stands out visually from the other three birds of the same family and looks great in screenshots
- A cheap way to expand your collection — 750 Trader's Tender accumulates easily over one or two months of normal Trading Post activity
- Account-wide — once you use the item, the mount becomes available to every character on your account, regardless of faction or class
How to Obtain
The primary and most reliable method in 2026 is to wait for Quawks to appear in the Trading Post rotation and buy it for Trader's Tender.
- Make sure you have a character of at least level 10 and the "Apprentice Riding" skill (unlocked automatically at level 10)
- Visit the Trading Post in any of the three cities: Stormwind City (the Trading Post by the Mage Quarter), Orgrimmar (near Grommash Hold)
- Claim your monthly Trader's Tender payout from the Collector's Cache (500 Tender just for visiting)
- Complete tasks in the Traveler's Log (up to 500 additional Tender per month)
- Wait for the month when Quawks appears in the shop's offerings list
- Or, if the mount isn't in the current month's offering, "freeze" it for the future using the item-freeze feature
- Buy
Quawks from the post vendor for 750 Tender
How the Trading Post Works
The Trading Post is a monthly reward system launched in patch 10.0.5. Each month the shop's lineup refreshes: mounts, pets, transmog appearances and toys go on sale, while alongside them you're offered tasks that award additional Tender.
| Element | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Trader's Tender | The shop's currency, accumulated account-wide |
| Collector's Cache | 500 Tender each month on your first visit |
| Traveler's Log | Up to 500 additional Tender for tasks |
| Monthly bonus reward | A unique item for filling the log to 1000 points |
| Item freeze | Lets you set one mount aside for the next month |
| Rotation | Offerings change on the 1st of each month |
At the system's launch in June 2023, Quawks was the monthly bonus itself: players who reached 1000 points in the Traveler's Log were awarded this mount.
Trader's Tender: How to Quickly Earn 750
A one-time purchase of Quawks takes just one or two months of activity.
- Visit the Trading Post on the 1st to collect 500 Tender from the Collector's Cache
- Open the Traveler's Log and review the task list
- Start with the easy ones: "use the fire of an Equinox Bonfire," "complete a dungeon of any difficulty," "gather herbs/ore," "catch a fish"
- Complete at least four tasks — this gives 250 Tender (each task is 65–75 Tender)
- Total: 500 + 250 = 750 Tender in the very first month, exactly enough to buy the mount
- If you can't make it in time, "freeze" Quawks with the freeze button to keep it in the lineup for the next month
Easy Tasks With the Best Returns
- Dungeons and scenarios — 1–2 runs usually close the corresponding log entries
- Professions — "mine 10 ore/herbs," "cook a dish," "craft an item" are done in 10–15 minutes
- Old content — "complete a raid from an old expansion," "earn an achievement" are often completed automatically while farming
- Seasonal holidays — during Midsummer Fire Festival, Hallow's End and other holidays, special tasks are added
Rotation and Freezing
Quawks is not in the Trading Post lineup every month. After June 2023, its returns have been irregular: the last confirmed case was February 2025. To avoid missing the mount, follow the recommendations below.
- Track the datamining — lineup announcements are published in Blizzard news 1–2 days before the update
- Visit the shop on the 1st of each month — that's exactly when the lineup refreshes
- Use the freeze — if Quawks appears but you're short on Tender, freeze it and it will stay in the lineup for one more month
- Watch the "Bargain Shop" — goblin vendors periodically appear in the Forge Yards in Dornogal, selling items from past months at a discount
- Stockpile Tender in advance — there's no cap on Tender per account, so you can save up several thousand and close out 2–3 mounts at once
Tips
Freezing beats rushing — don't try to buy the mount on the last day of the month at the expense of other desirable items. The freeze feature was made specifically for long-term purchase planning
Use every city — the mount can be bought in both Stormwind City and Orgrimmar. Vendors in all three locations sell the same lineup
One mount, once per account — Quawks is account-bound; there's no point in buying it again
Keep up monthly Traveler's Log activity — even if Quawks isn't on sale, 500 Tender from the cache plus task rewards add up quickly for future purchases
Don't forget the restrictions — the mount can only be summoned outdoors and out of combat, like most flying birds in the game
Use Collector's vouchers — if this month's tasks include "buy an item in the Trading Post," buying Quawks closes that task too, returning some of the spent Tender as a bonus
