Raging Tempest Totem
Overview

Raging Tempest Totem is an epic item that teaches you the flying mount
Farseer's Raging Tempest. This is the Shaman class mount, added in the Legion expansion in patch 7.2. The mount is an elemental that you ride upon, and it has a unique feature — its appearance changes depending on your current specialization.
The mount is available only to Shamans. You can obtain it by completing a short quest chain that culminates in a scenario in the Throne of the Four Winds.
Appearance by Specialization
The main feature of this mount is the dynamic change of appearance when switching specialization:
- Elemental — a fiery elemental with a blazing appearance
- Enhancement — an air elemental in white and stormy colors
- Restoration — a water elemental of a dark blue hue
You don't need to collect three separate mounts — one is enough, and its appearance will automatically adjust to your active specialization. This makes Farseer's Raging Tempest one of the most unusual mounts in the game.
Requirements to Obtain
- Class: Shaman (the mount is available only to Shamans)
- Character level: 10 or higher
- Riding skill: Apprentice (for ground travel) / Expert (for flying)
- Completed Shaman Class Hall campaign in Legion
- The achievement Breaching the Tomb — completed on the Broken Shore
Under the current state of the game, all these requirements are met quite quickly. The class hall campaign and the Broken Shore achievement are available to complete at any time.
Quest Chain
After completing the achievement "Breaching the Tomb," a short chain of two quests will become available to you:
Quest 1: On the Wings of the Wind
- Quest giver: Thuk the Defiant, located at Deliverance Point on the Broken Shore
- Objective: return to the Maelstrom and speak with Consul Celestos in the class hall
- Reward: Cache of Infinite Treasure and experience
This is a short quest that directs you back to your class hall — the Heart of Azeroth.

Quest 2: The Storm Gathers
- Quest giver: Consul Celestos in the Maelstrom
- Objective: complete the scenario in the Throne of the Four Winds
- Reward: Raging Tempest Totem
This is the final quest, which launches the scenario where you obtain the mount.

Completing the "The Storm Gathers" Scenario
The scenario will transport you to the Throne of the Four Winds — a raid dungeon from the Cataclysm expansion. Here you will help Prince Thunderaan establish his authority over the inhabitants of the Skywall.
Stage 1: Conversation with Thunderaan
Speak with Prince Thunderaan. He will explain that some windlords doubt his claim to the throne and believe that power should belong to Sarsarun. You must convince them otherwise.
Stage 2: Convince the Windlords
You need to defeat and persuade three elemental lords to swear allegiance to Thunderaan. These are the same bosses that made up the Conclave of Wind in the raid version of the dungeon:
- Rohash — will agree after seeing your combat prowess
- Nezir — will reconsider his loyalty after defeat
- Anshal — will acknowledge Thunderaan's strength and give him his power
The fights are simple and easily completed by any Shaman.
Stage 3: Return of the Skylord
After defeating all three lords, use the whirlwind to teleport to the central platform. Listen to Thunderaan's speech about the unity of the elements. After that, you will see a short cinematic in which Thunderaan rewards you with the mount as a token of gratitude.
Tips and Useful Information
- Quick completion: the entire process from the start of the chain to obtaining the mount takes no more than 15–20 minutes if you have already met all the prerequisites
- Class hall campaign: if you have not yet completed the Shaman class hall campaign in Legion, set aside additional time for it. The campaign includes several stages with time gates, but in the current version of the game these gates are significantly reduced
- Broken Shore: to earn the "Breaching the Tomb" achievement, you need to complete a series of quests on the Broken Shore. This will take some time, but all the quests are available to complete in sequence
- Related mount: there is also a mount variant — Farseer's Fel-Tempered Tempest, which uses the same model but in a fel-themed design. This variant is no longer obtainable
- Mount collection: once obtained, the mount becomes available to all of your Shaman characters on the account
Other Legion Class Mounts
Every class in the Legion expansion received a unique mount through a quest chain on the Broken Shore. If you enjoy collecting class mounts, create characters of other classes and complete similar chains — each one includes its own unique scenario and story.

Started playing back in Pandaria, when the pandaren were still a novelty. Got stuck on Monk because it's the only class where you don't get dizzy after a dash. Tries to manage both tanking and kicking enemies in the face.
