Rajani Warserpent
Overview

Rajani Warserpent is an epic ground and flying mount added in patch 8.3 of the Battle for Azeroth expansion. It is a majestic, icy-blue cloud serpent belonging to the Rajani — a group of mogu who remained loyal to Ra-den. The mount is purchased from the vendor Zhang Ku in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms for a single
Pristine Cloud Serpent Scale, which drops from the rare enemy Rei Lun.
The Rajani Warserpent stands apart from other cloud serpents thanks to the frosty hue of its scales and its distinctive glow. The mount's model is rendered in the style of the Rajani — cold, resolute warriors who oppose N'Zoth in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms.
Why You Want This Mount
- No reputation required — unlike most faction mounts, the Rajani Warserpent is not tied to a reputation level. All you need is a Pristine Cloud Serpent Scale
- A unique look — the icy-blue coloring sets this serpent apart from the dozens of other cloud serpents in the game. It immediately draws attention in cities and on the battlefield
- Ground and flying — the mount works both on the ground and in the air, adapting to no-fly zones and to areas where flight is enabled
- Available to all characters — once learned, the mount appears in the collection of every character on your account
- Single-expansion content — the entire process takes place within a single location, which makes it convenient for focused farming
How to Obtain
The process of obtaining the mount consists of three stages: wait for the right assault, kill the rare enemy, and exchange the loot with a vendor.
- Wait for the "Warring Clans" assault to become active in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms. Assaults rotate on a schedule and last several days. You can check the current assault on the zone map — during the mogu assault, the northwestern part of the vale will be marked with the corresponding icon
- Head to the Guo-Lai Halls in the northwestern part of the Vale of Eternal Blossoms. The entrance is located at roughly coordinates 22, 24
- Inside the dungeon, follow the central corridor deeper in and descend the stairs. Rei Lun is found in the Hall of the Serpent at coordinates /way 22, 12
- Kill Rei Lun and obtain the Pristine Cloud Serpent Scale. The drop chance is roughly 1-3 %, so it may take several attempts
- With the scale in hand, head to the vendor Zhang Ku, located in the Whispered Sanctuary south of Mistfall Village at coordinates /way 44.4, 75.4
- Exchange the Pristine Cloud Serpent Scale for the Rajani Warserpent and use the item to learn the mount
How to Reach the Vale of Eternal Blossoms
The Vale of Eternal Blossoms is a zone on the continent of Pandaria. To access the patch 8.3 content and assaults, you must switch the zone's phasing.
How to Get There
- Use the portal to Pandaria from your faction's capital (Orgrimmar or Stormwind). The portal leads to the Jade Forest
- From the Jade Forest, head north — the Vale of Eternal Blossoms is located in the central part of Pandaria
- Alternatively, you can use the Black Prince's whistle, an Engineer's portal, or your hearthstone if it is set to a location in Pandaria
Switching the Zone Phasing
By default, the Vale of Eternal Blossoms may display in its pre-patch 8.3 version (without assaults). To switch to the version with assaults:
- Find Zidormi (the NPC for switching time) — she stands next to the entrance to the Mogu'shan Palace on the right side of the zone map
- Talk to her and choose the option "Return to the current time" to activate the patch 8.3 assault phase
- After this, assault markers, world quests, and rare enemies will appear on the map
Coordinates of Key Points
Rei Lun — Details
Rei Lun is a rare elite enemy of the cloud serpent family that appears only during the "Warring Clans" assault in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms.
Spawn Conditions
- The "Warring Clans" assault must be active in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms
- The zone must be switched to the patch 8.3 phasing via Zidormi
- Rei Lun appears inside the Guo-Lai Halls, in the Hall of the Serpent
Respawn Time
Rei Lun respawns roughly every 40-60 minutes after being killed. At max level (90 in Midnight) the enemy poses no challenge and is killed in a few seconds.
Scale Drop Chance
The drop chance of the Pristine Cloud Serpent Scale is roughly 1-3 %. You can receive loot from Rei Lun once per day on each character. This means that using several characters significantly increases your chances.
Tips
Use several characters — each character can receive loot from Rei Lun once per day. The more characters you bring in, the higher your combined chance of getting the scale in a day
Check the group finder — open the premade group finder and type "Rei Lun". Other players often create groups to kill this enemy, which saves you from having to wait for it to spawn on your own server
Track the assault schedule — the "Warring Clans" assault is not always active. Assaults rotate, and Rei Lun is only available during the mogu assault. Check the current assault before heading to the Vale of Eternal Blossoms
Don't forget to talk to Zidormi — if you don't see assaults and rare enemies in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms, the zone is probably in the old phasing. Find Zidormi by the Mogu'shan Palace and switch the zone to the current time
Install TomTom or a similar addon — the coordinates of Rei Lun (/way 22, 12) and Zhang Ku (/way 44.4, 75.4) are easy to track with a navigation addon
A quick route — after killing Rei Lun you don't need to walk out of the dungeon. Use your hearthstone or whistle for instant travel, then make your way to Zhang Ku
The mount is available without grinding reputation — unlike most goods at faction vendors, the Rajani Warserpent is sold at a neutral standing. You don't need to spend time on daily quests for reputation

Started playing back in Pandaria, when the pandaren were still a novelty. Got stuck on Monk because it's the only class where you don't get dizzy after a dash. Tries to manage both tanking and kicking enemies in the face.
