Ravenous Shredclaw
Overview

Ravenous Shredclaw is an epic ground mount added in the Midnight expansion (patch 12.0.1). It is a predatory creature from the Voidstorm zone, one of the first animals of this region to be tamed. The mount is purchased from Void Researcher Anomander in Voidstorm for 6,000 Voidlight Marls at renown level 17 with the The Singularity faction.
The Ravenous Shredclaw is a massive predator with powerful clawed limbs and veins coursing with Void energy. Its appearance reflects the aggressive nature of the creatures of Voidstorm — sturdy musculature, sharp fangs, and a distinctive glow running throughout its entire body.
Why You Want This Mount
- Guaranteed acquisition — unlike mounts with a percentage drop chance, the Ravenous Shredclaw is purchased from a vendor. Once you reach the required renown level and accumulate the currency, you are guaranteed to obtain the mount
- Unique family — shredclaws are a new species introduced in Midnight. There are four color variations in the game in total, and the Ravenous Shredclaw is one of the most accessible among them
- Natural farming — the currency and renown level are gained in parallel through normal Voidstorm content, allowing you to obtain the mount without dedicated, lengthy grinding
- Available to all characters — once purchased, the mount becomes available to all characters on your account
- Excellent appearance — the shredclaw model looks imposing and stands out from the usual feline mounts with a more predatory and aggressive design
How to Obtain
To purchase the mount, you need to meet two conditions: reach renown level 17 with the Anomaly faction and accumulate 6,000 Voidlight Marls.
- Unlock access to the Voidstorm zone by completing the Terrace of Magisters dungeon (Midnight) as part of the main story campaign
- Travel through the portal to Voidstorm from Silvermoon (portal coordinates: 33.31, 65.91)
- Begin completing the zone's content — world quests, weekly quests, the Stormarion assault events, and hunting rare enemies
- Raise your renown level with the Anomaly faction to 17 (each level requires 2,500 reputation points)
- Accumulate Voidlight Marls in parallel — the currency builds up while completing the same activities
- Upon reaching renown level 17, head to Void Researcher Anomander and purchase the mount
How to Reach the Vendor
Void Researcher Anomander is the quartermaster of the Anomaly faction. He is located in the southeastern part of the Howling Crag area in the Voidstorm zone, next to a research console.
Route from Silvermoon
- Open the Silvermoon map and find the portal to Voidstorm on the western side of the city, above the Gardens of Remembrance (coordinates: 33.31, 65.91)
- Travel through the portal — you will arrive in the Voidstorm zone
- Move east and descend the stairs
- Turn left — Anomander stands next to the research console

Prerequisites
The portal to Voidstorm opens after completing the Terrace of Magisters dungeon (Midnight) during the expansion's main campaign. If you do not see the portal, return to the main story line and complete the dungeon.
Raising Renown Level with the Anomaly
To reach renown level 17, you need to earn 42,500 reputation points (17 levels of 2,500 points each). The main sources are listed below.
One-Time Sources
- Voidstorm main campaign — a significant one-time reputation bonus for completing the story line
- Zone side quests — additional stories in Voidstorm
- Lore items — scattered throughout the zone, collected once
- Highest peaks — telescopes at vantage points
- Major treasures — unique chests in the zone
Weekly Activities (main source)
- Stormarion assault — an exclusive Anomaly faction event in the Stormarion citadel. The largest weekly source of reputation
- Dungeon quest — picked up from Halduron Brightwing in Silvermoon. Choose the Anomaly reward
- PvP quests — available from Zerella at Hawk Square
- Bountiful trials — random faction bonuses in trials (twice a week)
- Special assignments — appear periodically in Voidstorm
Refreshing Sources
- World quests — refresh on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Many of them directly reward Voidlight Marls
- Hunting rare enemies — weekly reset
Reputation Boosters
- World quest bonus event — +50% to reputation gained from world quests
- Darkmoon Faire — ride the carousel to gain a +10% reputation buff
- Scribe's contract — grants an additional 10–15 reputation points for each world quest
Farming Voidlight Marls
Voidlight Marls are the main currency of the Midnight expansion. They are earned in parallel with renown level, so by the time you reach level 17, you will most likely have already accumulated a significant portion of the required 6,000.
Main Methods of Acquisition
- World quests — the most consistent daily source. Many quests in Voidstorm directly reward Marls
- The Hunt ("Prey" system) — talk to Astalor Bloodsworn at the Murder Row in Silvermoon. Completing a hunt on high difficulty lets you choose a reward, including Voidlight Marls
- Hunting rare enemies — elite enemies in Voidstorm often drop the currency
- Hidden chests — scattered across the zone and contain small stacks of currency
- Trials — earned delve coins can be converted into Marls by purchasing a seeker's bag
Efficient Farming Method
The fastest way for dedicated farming is the "Prey" system. Complete "Hunt the Prey" type world quests: set traps along the target's route and collect the rewards. This method lets you earn roughly 1,800–2,000 Marls per hour with an optimal route.
To access random hunts, you need to reach rank 2 in the hunting system.
Other Shredclaw Variants
In addition to the Ravenous Shredclaw, three more mounts of this family are available in Midnight:
Reins of the Insatiable Shredclaw — obtained from the "Predaxas's Last Clutch" treasure in Voidstorm. Requires completing a maze in a low-gravity cave- Furious Shredclaw — a reward of the "Murderer's Duel" faction (PvP faction). Obtained in the "Murderer's Rise" free-for-all PvP zone
- Stalking Shredclaw — also a reward of the "Murderer's Duel" faction
Tips
Start with the campaign — the Voidstorm main story line grants a significant one-time reputation bonus and unlocks all of the zone's content types. Without it, world quests and events will be unavailable
Combine activities — most reputation sources also grant Voidlight Marls at the same time. There is no need to farm them separately
Prioritize weekly quests — the Stormarion assault and the dungeon quest grant the most reputation for the time spent
Use contracts — the scribe's contract for the Anomaly faction adds 10–15 reputation points for each world quest in any Midnight zone
Check world quests — they refresh on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Log in after the refresh so you don't miss quests that reward Marls
Alternate characters — renown level is account-wide. Activities on alts also bring in Voidlight Marls
Darkmoon Faire and bonus events — combine intensive farming with these buffs for maximum efficiency
The Hunt is the best method for dedicated farming — if you are short on Marls by renown level 17, use the "Prey" system to quickly top up

Started playing back in Pandaria, when the pandaren were still a novelty. Got stuck on Monk because it's the only class where you don't get dizzy after a dash. Tries to manage both tanking and kicking enemies in the face.
