Get Drake of the Four Winds mount

Drake of the Four Winds is a rare-quality flying mount added in patch 8.3 "Visions of N'Zoth" of the Battle for Azeroth expansion.

The mount drops from Ishak of the Four Winds — a rare elite creature that circles above the western platform near the Cyclone Pinnacle in Uldum. Ishak appears only during the Uldum invasions added in 8.3, and is one of the few rares that spawns during any type of assault — both N'Zoth's attack and the rotating invasions of the other factions.

• Fast flying mount — in zones where flying is allowed the speed is +150%, +280% or +310% depending on your riding skill, meaning the mount moves at the maximum flying-transport speed
• Account-wide — once obtained it appears in the collection on every character of the account regardless of faction and class
• Counts toward achievements — contributes to the collector meta-achievements for mounts
• Rich lore — the item's flavor text references King Phaoris of the Uldum Accord, and the model itself ties together the storylines of Cataclysm and Battle for Azeroth

The only way to get the mount is to kill Ishak of the Four Winds during an active Uldum invasion. Here is the sequence of actions from scratch:

1. Complete the introductory campaign of patch 8.3 "Visions of N'Zoth". The quest chain begins with the quest "Crisis Averted" from Magni Bronzebeard in the Chamber of Heart
2. Fly to the Halls of Origination in northwestern Uldum and talk to Magni — he will launch the invasion storyline and unlock the Uldum Accord faction
3. Check the world map: the burning eye of N'Zoth icon marks the zone where an invasion is taking place this week. Uldum invasions alternate with Vale of Eternal Blossoms invasions
4. When any Uldum invasion is active, fly to the coordinates /way #1527 73 83 — to the western platform near the Cyclone Pinnacle
5. Find Ishak circling above the platform. At low character levels kill him in a group, at the maximum level 80 he goes down solo in a few seconds
6. With a chance of about 3% the Reins of the Drake of the Four Winds drops from the corpse. Use the item — the mount will be added to your collection

Invasions were added in patch 8.3 and switch on a weekly rotation between Uldum and the Vale of Eternal Blossoms. One week N'Zoth besieges one zone, the other comes under attack from the factions of Azeroth, which alternate every three to four days.

Ishak is the only Uldum rare whose spawn does not depend on the current invasion type. He appears both during a Black Empire siege and during any of the factional attacks, as long as the Uldum invasion icon burns on the map.

Daily roll and alts

The loot lock on Ishak resets once a day. In a single game day one character can get a roll on the mount only once, so mass farming is built around alts.

1. Push all alts above level 50 through the 8.3 quest chain until the invasions unlock
2. On an invasion day, log in each character and fly to the coordinates 73, 83
3. If Ishak is not spawned, use widgets like the Rare Scanner addon and check neighboring realm channels via faction war
4. Kill him — switch to the next alt
5. 10 characters = 10 independent rolls per day, which significantly shortens the expected time to the drop

Calculating the attempts until the drop

With a 3% chance the average sample until the first success is about 33 kills. On a single character this is equivalent to a month of daily farming without skipping; on 5 alts — roughly a week; on 10 alts — three to four days, provided you manage to catch active invasions.

Respawn timer

Ishak respawns 2–5 hours after a kill. If you arrive and don't find a body — wait or switch to a different server channel. On days with an active invasion other mount hunters usually camp the platform — team up into a group, this does not reduce the loot chance.
