Overview

Reins of the Rekindled Dreamstag

Game iconReins of the Rekindled Dreamstag is an epic ground mount added to World of Warcraft in patch 10.2.0 "Guardians of the Dream" of the Dragonflight expansion. It is a majestic stag with glowing embers in place of its body's core and smoldering antlers made of charred branches. The in-game description reads: "The ash of fallen leaves is the fertile soil from which the dreamstags rise."

The mount is tied to the Dream Wardens faction, a new group of defenders of the Emerald Dream. There are three ways to obtain it: buy it from NPC vendors for the Game iconSeedbloom currency after reaching renown level 18, get it from the Game iconGigantic Dreamy Bounty when planting gigantic seeds during the "Emerald Bounty" event, or find it in dreamseed caches.

Why you want this mount

  • Unique fiery model — the only dreamstag with a smoldering-ember effect and ashen palette, setting it apart from its lunar, radiant and blossoming kin
  • Guaranteed acquisition — unlike purely random mounts, the Reins of the Rekindled Dreamstag can be bought for 1 Seedbloom, which makes it accessible to every player without relying on luck
  • Part of a themed collection — gathering all four Emerald Dream stags is a notable achievement for collectors
  • Account-wide — like most modern mounts, once obtained for the first time it unlocks on all characters
  • Tied to current content — planting gigantic dreamseeds remains an available activity even at level 90 in Midnight, letting you return to Dragonflight content whenever it suits you

How to obtain

The most reliable path is to raise your renown with the Dream Wardens to level 18 and buy the mount from the vendors for Seedbloom.

  1. Head to the Emerald Dream on a character level 70 or higher. The zone opens through the Guardians of the Dream expansion intro quest
  2. Complete the questline, daily quests, events and public activities of the zone to accumulate renown with the faction
  3. Upon reaching renown level 5, gain access to the Dream Infusion currency and the dreamseed-planting system
  4. At renown level 18, the ability to buy mounts for Seedbloom unlocks
  5. Obtain Seedbloom from the weekly quest Blooming Dreamseeds or by planting seeds during the "Emerald Bounty" event
  6. Travel to Talisa Whisperbloom at the Central Encampment or to Sylvia Whisperbloom at the Sylvan Hold and buy the Reins of the Rekindled Dreamstag for 1 Seedbloom

Mount vendors

Two NPCs in the Dream Wardens faction sell the Reins of the Rekindled Dreamstag. Their stock is identical — pick whichever is closer to fly to.

Vendor Location Coordinates
Talisa Whisperbloom Central Encampment, to the left of the innkeeper's tent approximately 49.8, 62.2
Sylvia Whisperbloom Sylvan Hold, an islet north of the Eye of Ysera approximately 41, 51

Both vendors also sell the Game iconReins of the Blossoming Dreamstag, the Game iconReins of the Lunar Dreamstag and other mounts from the same series.

Planting dreamseeds

An alternative path is planting the Game iconGigantic Dreamseed during the "Emerald Bounty" event. The fully grown plant drops the Gigantic Dreamy Bounty, which has a small chance to contain the mount.

  1. Obtain a Gigantic Dreamseed — it drops from weekly quests, Dream Wardens paragon chests and rare chests on the map. At renown level 20, the seeds are also sold by Moon Priestess Lasara for Dragon Isles Supplies
  2. Find a free plot in the Emerald Dream — they are marked with a seedling icon on the map, about 18 planting spots in total
  3. Plant the seed and protect the sprout from mobs until it fully matures. Bring in other players — the more emerald dewdrops are contributed, the higher the reward tier
  4. Receive the Gigantic Dreamy Bounty and open it — inside you may find the Reins of the Rekindled Dreamstag

Earning Dream Wardens renown

To unlock the mount purchase you need renown level 18. This requires regular activity in the Emerald Dream over the course of several weeks.

  • Story quests — complete the main Dream Wardens line, including "Ice and Fire" and the side branches
  • Daily quests — each grants 250 renown and a small supply of currencies
  • Weekly quests — Blooming Dreamseeds and "Priceless Goods" give a large boost and Seedbloom
  • Zone events — "Bloom Boom", "Emerald Bounty", "Emerald Frenzy" and the gate assaults bring significant reputation for taking part
  • Rares and chests — every first kill of a rare mob and every chest per week grant 250 renown each

Optimal weekly cycle

  1. Do all available weekly faction quests at the start of the week
  2. Put the maximum available seeds in to plant, especially Gigantic Dreamseeds
  3. Clear one round of all rares and chests for the one-time bonuses
  4. Complete daily quests on the days when bonus events are active
  5. Take part in the major zone events — "Bloom Boom" appears on a timer and gives the best return per unit of time

Tips

1

Don't skip "Blooming Dreamseeds" — the weekly quest Blooming Dreamseeds guarantees 1 Seedbloom, which is exactly the amount needed to buy the mount. A single successful turn-in closes out the farm

2

Plant specifically gigantic seeds — only the Gigantic Dreamy Bounty can drop mounts. Lesser and plump seeds don't yield stags

3

Cooperate when planting — public events at the plots work better when several players defend the sprout at once. The reward rises to the "Greater Emerald Blossom" tier, which increases the mount chance

4

Reach renown level 18 first — even if you get the mount from a bounty earlier, vendor access will come in handy for other items: extra stags, pets, druid forms and Gigantic Dreamseeds from Moon Priestess Lasara

5

Bring in alts — Dream Wardens renown on any second character starts at level 5, and the weekly seeds and seedblooms are granted on each one, speeding up collecting the whole stag series

6

The mount is account-wide once obtained — as soon as one character buys the Reins of the Rekindled Dreamstag, the mount instantly appears in the collection of all characters on your account regardless of faction and class

Started playing back in Pandaria, when the pandaren were still a novelty. Got stuck on Monk because it's the only class where you don't get dizzy after a dash. Tries to manage both tanking and kicking enemies in the face.
