Resinous Blossomblade — Transmog Set Guide
Overview

Resinous Blossomblade is a one-handed dagger of epic quality added to World of Warcraft with the Midnight expansion. It is a short blade with a natural, "plant-grown" silhouette: the hilt and crossguard are wrapped in resinous wood, and the blade itself looks as if it sprouted from a living tree rather than being forged in a smithy. The look is kept in a dark-green and amber-resin palette without bright glow — the weapon appears as though it were crafted by druids or by the Haranir themselves.
The dagger belongs to the Midnight delve weapon set: its model follows the nature theme of Harandar and fits druidic and woodland looks well. By its stats it is an item for intellect-based specializations — it carries intellect and stamina, so in combat use it goes to mages, druids, priests, shamans, warlocks, and evokers. For transmogrification, however, only the appearance of the blade itself matters.
As a combat weapon the item is interesting mainly within the delve system: it can only be used in tier 11 delves, where it scales up to a high item level. But as a transmog appearance the dagger is valuable in its own right — it is one of the most "organic" dagger models to appear in Midnight.
Source
The Resinous Blossomblade does not drop from a specific raid boss — it is obtained from a loot cache inside the delves of the Midnight expansion.
- The item's source is the Restored Coffer object, a chest that appears at the end of a delve.
- The Restored Coffer spawns if you use a special loot-tracking map while running the delve: the higher the delve tier, the more valuable the chest's contents.
- The loot-tracking map is awarded for defeating the seasonal delve enemy named Nullei — it can be encountered directly inside the delve.
- Caches containing this dagger appear in various Midnight delves — including Sidestreet Sluice, one of the delves in the Eversong Woods region.
- A delve can be run solo or in a small group of up to five players, accompanied by a companion ally. There is no hard attempt limit — delves can be re-run repeatedly.
To farm the caches reliably, you need access to the higher delve difficulty tiers and a stock of loot-tracking maps. The maps and related delve gear are sold by the vendor Naleidea Ripwave — she can be found at the delve explorers' headquarters in Silvermoon.
Since the blade itself works as a combat weapon only in tier 11 delves, it makes sense to first raise your delve difficulty to high ranks: then the appearance will drop faster, and the accompanying loot will be more valuable.
Alternatives
The Resinous Blossomblade has no confirmed color recolors with separate item IDs — it is a standalone appearance from the Midnight delve weapon set. Similar options by silhouette and theme are worth looking for among other natural and "woody" weapons of the expansion.
- Daggers from Midnight dungeons styled around the nature and woodland theme of Harandar are the closest in spirit.
- Druidic weapons from previous expansions with plant and wood motifs — for looks where the blade should appear grown rather than forged.
- Other gear from Midnight delve caches — it follows the same artistic line and combines well together.
If you want this exact appearance, you should farm the Resinous Blossomblade itself: the item has no alternative source with the exact same model.
Who It Suits Visually
- Suits druidic looks: the resin-and-wood hilt echoes the nature theme and combines well with leather sets in green tones.
- Harmonizes with dark-green and amber armor — for example, with cloth and leather sets in forest, swamp, or druidic coloring.
- Fitting for concepts tied to the Haranir and the nature of Harandar — the look directly references the artistic style of the Midnight expansion.
- Contrasts with bright plate armor — a debatable but expressive pairing of a "living" blade with heavy armor.
- Looks great paired with the same dagger in both hands on rogues — two identical "woody" daggers form a cohesive natural silhouette.
Tips
1
The main path to the appearance is farming the Restored Coffer object in Midnight delves, so stock up on loot-tracking maps before your runs.
2
Loot-tracking maps are awarded for defeating the seasonal enemy Nullei, so build killing it into your regular delve route.
3
Raise your delve difficulty: the higher it is, the more valuable the cache's contents and the higher the chance for the weapon you want.
4
Get delve gear and consumables from the vendor Naleidea Ripwave at the delve explorers' headquarters in Silvermoon.
5
The appearance unlocks in the transmog collection when the item is obtained by any character on the account — farming on an alt works too.
6
Delves are designed for short 10-15 minute runs, so farming the appearance is convenient to split into many short sessions instead of one long run.
7
It is most convenient to farm on classes with good single-target damage and solo survivability — delves can be done both in a group and solo with a companion.
8
Remember that as a combat weapon the blade only works in tier 11 delves; if you only need it for the appearance, getting the item once and unlocking the look is enough.
