Reins of the Riverwalker Mushan
Overview

Reins of the Riverwalker Mushan is an epic ground mount added to World of Warcraft in patch 10.2.7 as part of the limited-time WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria event. It depicts a massive blue-hided mushan with armored barding — one of four variations of the mushan model from the original Mists of Pandaria expansion. The item's description reminds players of these animals' voracious nature: "The mushan is an insatiable beast. It can be tamed, but it will demand a second, third, and even a fourth breakfast every day."
The mount was sold exclusively for the event's internal currency — Bronze — by Hemet Nesingwary XVII at the Infinite Bazaars in Pandaria. The price was 2,200 Bronze. The series' companion mount —
Reins of the Palehide Mushan Beast — was sold by the same vendor for the same amount.
Why You Want This Mount
- Exclusive to a past event — after WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria ended on August 20, 2024, the mount officially became unavailable. Anyone who obtained it before the event closed owns a rare collectible model
- Unique coloration — the blue-hided mushan variation differs from the ground mushan of original Pandaria and from the Remix Reins of the Palehide Mushan Beast
- Account-wide access — once obtained, the mount unlocks on all of your characters regardless of faction and class
- Speed 10 out of 10 — the ground mount receives a +60% or +100% speed bonus depending on your riding skill, meaning it travels at the maximum ground-transport speed
- Possible return — Blizzard representatives have stated that the WoW Remix event may return in the future, so a chance to obtain the mount again may remain down the line
How to Obtain
While the event was running, the path to the mount consisted of the following steps:
- Create a timewalker character of any class during the active WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria event. The starting level is 10
- Level up by playing through the Pandaria storyline: quests, dungeons, scenarios, raids and world tasks. The maximum level in the Remix is 70
- Accumulate at least 2,200 Bronze. The currency drops from enemies, world orbs, for quests, achievement rewards, in chests, when scrapping unwanted gear, as well as for daily tasks
- Head to Hemet Nesingwary XVII at any Infinite Bazaar in Pandaria — for example, in the Valley of the Four Winds or in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms
- Select the Reins of the Riverwalker Mushan in his inventory and purchase it for 2,200 Bronze
- Use the item — the mount binds on pickup and is automatically added to your account-wide collection
Important: after August 20, 2024, the event ended, and the vendor and currency vanished. As things stand, the mount cannot be obtained in Midnight.

Farming Bronze During the Event
Although WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria has already ended, below is a summary of effective ways to obtain Bronze — it will come in handy should the event potentially return.
Main Sources of Bronze
- Pandaria raids — group dungeons and raids on Heroic and Mythic difficulty gave the largest Bronze gains per clear. Focusing on the Firelands, Heart of Fear and Terrace of Endless Spring is recommended
- Scenarios — short 3-player scenarios were completed quickly and yielded Bronze, experience and threads
- Daily tasks at the Infinite Bazaars — Hemet Nesingwary XVII and other vendors offered daily quests with a guaranteed Bronze payout
- World orbs and tasks — collect orbs as you move around the world and complete world tasks
- Scrapping gear — run all unwanted items through the Disintegrating Sands to receive Bronze and threads
- World bosses — gave guaranteed Bronze and a chance at additional chests
Bronze Caches
The event featured four tiers of caches, each with a different reward amount:
- Tiny Bronze Cache
- Lesser Bronze Cache
- Bronze Cache
- Greater Bronze Cache
These caches dropped from raid and scenario bosses, as well as for completing achievements and world events.
Current Status and Return
WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria ended on August 20, 2024. After that date:
- The vendor Hemet Nesingwary XVII was removed from the game
- The Bronze currency no longer functions
- The Reins of the Riverwalker Mushan moved into the category of unavailable items
In official interviews, Blizzard developers have mentioned that limited-time Remix events may return. For instance, Legion Remix followed Pandaria Remix — which gives hope that the series of events will continue and that Pandaria Remix will become active again in the foreseeable future.
Keep an eye on Blizzard announcements and official news so you don't miss a possible relaunch of the event.
Tips
Focus on exclusives first — if the event returns, buy the mounts and items marked "Remix exclusive" first. The Reins of the Riverwalker Mushan and Reins of the Palehide Mushan Beast are a priority, since they are unavailable outside the event
Watch the event achievements — some achievements granted extra rewards and large sums of Bronze
Don't spend Bronze on retail mounts — ordinary Pandaria mounts from Hemet Nesingwary XVII cost 18,700–38,500 Bronze, whereas the exclusives cost only 2,200–6,600. The exclusives pay off far faster
Level several characters — each additional timewalker received its own reward cap, which significantly increased your overall Bronze income
The mount is account-bound — you only need to buy the Reins of the Riverwalker Mushan on one character, and it will unlock on all of your account
Prepare in advance — if the event returns, log in on the very first day. Accumulating 2,200 Bronze in a single evening is a realistic task even for newcomers

Started playing back in Pandaria, when the pandaren were still a novelty. Got stuck on Monk because it's the only class where you don't get dizzy after a dash. Tries to manage both tanking and kicking enemies in the face.
