The wand is a ranged weapon used for transmog by Mage, Priest, and Warlock. The model fits any "engineering," "goblin," and steampunk look thanks to its abundance of small technical details and the distinctive flavor text "Genius."
Today the item is valuable primarily as a transmog: its stats are tied to The War Within season content, but the appearance remains a fun, recognizable addition to any collection.

The drop source is the pile of goblin currency left behind by The Underpin. This is a special pest enemy of the season: it has a random chance to invade your delve, much like Zekvir once did. The mechanic works like this:
- The Underpin occasionally breaks into a delve during a run — you can guarantee summoning it with a separate device after activating the resurrection stone inside the delve.
- To make it retreat and leave its loot, you need to either bring it down to half health or survive its attack.
- After The Underpin flees, an abandoned pile of goblin currency is left on the floor — that's exactly what the loot, including this wand, drops from.
- Besides the appearance, the pile can also yield seeker's loot, which guarantees a cache at the end of the current or next delve of an appropriate level.
The drop isn't guaranteed in one go: the wand is only one of the possible items, so it may take several encounters with The Underpin. Since its appearance is random, it makes sense to summon it deliberately rather than wait for a spontaneous invasion.
Who It Suits Visually
- Ideal for "engineering" and goblin looks — it complements sets with gears, bolts, and technical details.
- It harmonizes with the brass-and-steel steampunk palette: bronze, worn metal, dark leather.

Don't forget about the seeker's loot from the same pile — it grants a guaranteed cache and pairs well with farming the appearance.
Once learned, the appearance is saved to your account collection, so there's no need to collect the wand again for other characters.
