Rootstalker Grimlynx

Rootstalker Grimlynx is a ground mount from the Midnight expansion (patch 12.0). It drops from rare creatures in the Harandar zone.

The mount is not tied to a specific NPC — it can drop from any of the 15 Harandar rare creatures. The loot lockout resets daily: you can kill each rare creature once per day on each character and get a chance at the mount. Hara'ti reputation is awarded only for the first kill of each rare per week.

1. Reach Harandar

Harandar is one of the Midnight expansion zones. The zone becomes available after completing the starting campaign in the Eversong Woods. After that, you can choose Harandar via the scouting map in Silvermoon — there's no need to clear Zul'Aman or other zones beforehand.

2. Find and kill the rare creatures

All 15 Harandar rare creatures:

Tip: install the HandyNotes: Midnight addon — it shows all rare mobs and treasures on the map.

Rare creatures are available to everyone. Just deal some damage and you'll get loot. Don't hesitate to fight alongside other players.

Optimal route

Loop through all 15 rares in a circle. Respawn timer: 15–30+ minutes. Most can be soloed at level 90.

• Multiple characters — each one gives +15 attempts/day.

Search macro: create a macro (or) and press it as you fly up to a point — that way you'll immediately see whether the mob is alive.

Best classes for farming

• Druid — instant travel form, gather bonus resources without dismounting
• Hunter — mobility and self-sufficiency
• Rogue — stealth, bypass unnecessary mobs

Additional rewards

Farming the Harandar rare creatures brings more than just a chance at the mount:

• The Leaf None Behind achievement — for all 15 rare creatures.
• Hara'ti reputation — 50 points for the first kill of each rare per week.
• Vibrant Petalwing — a second mount from the same mobs, a flying one.
• Unique weapons and armor for transmog from each rare creature.
