Overview

Винтовка Ровэна с серебряными пулями

Rowan's Rifle of Silver Bullets is an epic-quality ranged firearm from the Wrath of the Lich King expansion. It is a long rifle with a massive barrel and a dark wooden stock, finished in a stern steel palette — its flavor text reads: "For those occasions when ordinary means just won't do."

The weapon suits hunters, and as a transmog appearance it works for any character who can wield guns. The item level of 47 and the level 30 role requirement are irrelevant for transmog: the piece is prized for its look, evoking the theme of hunting the undead and silver bullets against werewolves.

The rifle drops from regular enemies inside the Icecrown Citadel raid. This is legacy Wrath of the Lich King content, so you can obtain the weapon solo, without a group, at any time.

Source

Rowan's Rifle of Silver Bullets drops from regular enemies (so-called "trash") inside the Icecrown Citadel raid in Icecrown (Northrend). It is not a named-boss drop but loot from rank-and-file enemies between fights.

  • Travel to Northrend and enter Icecrown. The entrance to Icecrown Citadel is in the northern part of the zone.
  • Choose the raid difficulty: the rifle drops in both the 10-player and 25-player formats, with no difference for the appearance.
  • Clear regular enemies as you progress through the raid. The weapon drops specifically from them, so you don't have to kill bosses for the item itself — what matters is slaying the rank-and-file enemies along the way.
  • The drop chance is low, so several runs may be needed. The raid resets once a week, but regular enemies respawn on every new visit.

The content is many expansions out of date, so the entire raid can be cleared solo on any max-level class. If the appearance you want doesn't drop in a single run, come back next reset and farm the "trash" again.

Alternatives

Rowan's Rifle of Silver Bullets has no known color variants under a different name — it is a standalone gun model from the Wrath of the Lich King era. If what matters to you is the silhouette of a massive rifle with a steel barrel, look for similar firearm models from the same expansion.

Icecrown Citadel itself drops several other types of ranged weapons — bows and crossbows from named bosses. They differ in weapon type but share the raid's unified icy styling, so they pair well within a single hunter outfit. Check the previews in transmog mode to find a gun with the right shade for your set.

Best Visual Fit

  • Fits perfectly into the look of a hunter of the undead and werewolves — the silver-bullet theme echoes the lore of Gilneas and the fight against the curse.
  • Harmonizes with dark leather and mail sets in steel and charcoal tones.
  • Looks great with Wrath of the Lich King-era armor sets, especially in the cold blue-steel palette of Icecrown.
  • Contrasts with bright, light sets — the massive dark barrel becomes a stern accent of the outfit.

Tips

1

Farm the "trash" methodically: the weapon drops from rank-and-file enemies, so clear the corridors between bosses, not just the bosses themselves.

2

Enter the raid once a week after the reset — regular enemies respawn, and each run gives fresh attempts at the drop.

3

For faster farming, bring a class with high mobility and strong area damage: clearing "trash" goes quicker that way.

4

The entire raid is outdated and can be done solo on any max-level class; no healer or group is needed.

5

Along the way, Icecrown Citadel also drops other weapon and armor appearances, as well as mounts from bosses — a single run closes several collection goals at once.

6

If you're specifically hunting this rifle, don't waste time on named-boss resets: regularly killing the rank-and-file enemies along the route is enough.
