Overview

Royal Court Undercrawler

Game iconRoyal Court Undercrawler is an epic ground mount added in patch 11.0.0 of the The War Within expansion. It is a large spider-like crawler bred for the needs of the nerubian royal court of Azj-Kahet. The mount is purchased from the vendors Tulumun or Yamas the Provider in the Azj-Kahet zone for 2020 units of the Kej currency upon reaching the "Schemer" rank with the Vizier faction.

The item description reads: pedigree patents are used to denote the history and value of purebred undercrawlers in nerubian high society. This practice can prove troublesome when the undercrawlers in question are prone to suddenly devouring their record-keepers.

Why You Want This Mount

  • Guaranteed acquisition — unlike mounts with a percentage drop chance, the Royal Court Undercrawler is purchased from a vendor. Once you reach the required rank and save up the currency, the mount is yours
  • Unique model — it is one of three undercrawlers available through the Severed Threads pact system. The royal variant stands out with a distinctive coloration that emphasizes its belonging to the courtly elite of Azj-Kahet
  • Arachnophobia mode — if you do not like spiders, you can enable arachnophobia mode in the game settings, and the mount will take on an alternate appearance
  • Available to all characters — once purchased, the mount becomes available on all characters on your account
  • Expansion theme — the mount fits perfectly into the atmosphere of the nerubian underground kingdom of The War Within

How to Obtain

To purchase the mount, you need to meet two conditions: reach the "Schemer" rank (8th of 9 ranks) with the Vizier faction and save up 2020 Kej.

  1. Complete the main storyline of Azj-Kahet and reach renown level 3 with the Severed Threads faction — this unlocks the pact system
  2. Each week, forge a pact with the Vizier by speaking to Y'tekhi in the Weaver's Lair (coordinates: 57.66, 46.96)
  3. Complete the weekly quests and world quests of the Vizier pact to gain reputation
  4. Reach the "Schemer" rank (8th rank, requires 20,000 reputation points in total)
  5. Save up 2020 units of the Kej currency
  6. Purchase the mount from Tulumun (coordinates: 56.2, 42.2) or Yamas the Provider (coordinates: 55.2, 41.4) in Azj-Kahet

The Severed Threads Pact System

The mount is available through the pact system unique to the Azj-Kahet zone. The Severed Threads faction consists of three leaders, each offering their own path of progression.

The Three Leaders

  • The Vizier (Executor Nyraksh) — the royal advisor. Offers the Royal Court Undercrawler mount
  • The General (Anub'azal) — the military commander. Offers the Ancestry Undercrawler mount
  • The Weaver (Widow Arak'nai) — the former royal weaver with a network of spies. Offers the Widow's Undercrawler mount

How the System Works

Each week, you forge a pact with one of the three leaders. The choice applies account-wide and resets with the weekly reset (on Wednesday). Throughout the week, you gain reputation only with the chosen leader.

To obtain the Royal Court Undercrawler, choose the Vizier's pact every week until you reach the "Schemer" rank.

Reputation Ranks

The system uses 9 ranks instead of the standard renown levels. Each rank requires 2500 reputation points:

Rank Points (total)
1. Outsider 2,500
2. 5,000
3. 7,500
4. 10,000
5. 12,500
6. 15,000
7. 17,500
8. Schemer 20,000
9. Mastermind 22,500

Reaching each rank with a pact leader grants 1 level of overall renown with the Severed Threads faction.

Building Reputation with the Vizier

Weekly Quests (Primary Source)

At the start of the week, forge a pact with the Vizier and pick up the weekly quest "The Vizier's Hand" from Y'tekhi in the Weaver's Lair. The quest rewards 1500 reputation points, along with gold, upgrade stones, and Kej.

World Quests

Azj-Kahet world quests grant reputation with the chosen pact leader. Complete all available world quests in the zone every day.

Rare Enemies and Treasures

Each rare enemy in Azj-Kahet grants 150 reputation points (once per account). Treasures also grant 150 reputation points each.

Weekly Dungeon Quest

The weekly dungeon completion quest rewards 1500 reputation points with the chosen pact leader.

Sojourns

Sojourns grant a random amount of reputation with the factions.

The Vizier's Bonus

When you forge a pact with the Vizier, you gain +10% Kej from all sources — an additional advantage for accumulating the currency for the mount.

How to Earn Kej

Kej is the main currency of Azj-Kahet, required to purchase the mount. The main sources:

  • Weekly pact quests — the main source of Kej
  • World quests in Azj-Kahet reward a small amount of Kej
  • Chests and treasures in the zone contain Kej
  • Quests of the main and side storylines of Azj-Kahet
  • Rare enemies — killing rare mobs rewards Kej
  • Sojourns — completing sojourns yields Kej

With the Vizier's pact active, you gain a +10% bonus to all Kej earned, which speeds up accumulation.

How to Reach Azj-Kahet

Azj-Kahet is a nerubian underground zone for characters of levels 78–80, located on the continent of Khaz Algar.

First Visit

  1. Follow the main storyline of the The War Within expansion
  2. After completing the campaigns in Isle of Dorn and the Ringing Deeps, you will receive a quest leading to Azj-Kahet
  3. Complete the zone's introductory quest chain

Quick Access (Once Unlocked)

  1. Use the portal to Azj-Kahet from Dornogal (the capital of Khaz Algar)
  2. The Hearthstone, if it is set to a point in Azj-Kahet

Vendor Coordinates

/way Azj-Kahet 56.2 42.2 Tulumun /way Azj-Kahet 55.2 41.4 Yamas the Provider

Both vendors are located in the Weaver's Lair — the central hub of the Azj-Kahet zone.

Farm Optimization

Weekly Plan

  1. On reset day (Wednesday), forge a pact with the Vizier at Y'tekhi
  2. Pick up the weekly quest "The Vizier's Hand"
  3. Complete all available world quests in Azj-Kahet
  4. Kill the available rare enemies
  5. Open all treasures in the zone
  6. Complete the weekly dungeon quest
  7. Run sojourns for extra reputation and Kej

How Long It Will Take

By completing all available activities each week and consistently choosing the Vizier's pact, reaching the "Schemer" rank will take approximately 5–7 weeks. The exact time depends on the number of available world quests and bonus events.

To save up 2020 Kej with active farming, 2–3 weeks is usually enough, especially with the +10% bonus from the Vizier's pact.

Tips

1

Do not switch between pacts — if your goal is specifically the Royal Court Undercrawler, choose the Vizier every week. Switching to another leader will slow your progress, since reputation only builds with the active pact leader

2

Do not forget about world quests — check the Azj-Kahet map several times a day. World quests refresh at intervals of a few hours

3

Use the Vizier's bonus — the pact with the Vizier grants +10% to the Kej you receive. This speeds up accumulating the currency for the mount and other purchases

4

Collect treasures and kill rare mobs — each treasure and each rare enemy grants 150 reputation points. Although the bonus is one-time per account, in total this is a significant contribution to progress

5

Combine with other goals — while you build reputation with the Vizier, you simultaneously raise your overall renown with the Severed Threads, unlocking additional faction rewards

6

The mount is account-wide — once purchased, the Royal Court Undercrawler becomes available on all your characters

7

Arachnophobia mode — if the spider-like appearance of the mount bothers you, enable the corresponding option in the game settings. The model will be replaced with an alternate one
