Savage Blue Battle Turtle

Savage Blue Battle Turtle is an epic ground mount added to World of Warcraft with patch 10.2.5 (January 16, 2024) as part of the Dragonflight expansion. The model is a massive armored turtle in a rich teal-blue color, fitted with two side-mounted cannons.

The mount does not drop from bosses and is not tied to any achievement. It is distributed exclusively through the Trading Post — a cosmetic showcase that Blizzard refreshes on the first day of every month. The turtle first went on sale in April 2024 for 500 Trader's Tender. In February 2026 the item returned as part of the Trading Post anniversary sale in Dornogal, where it could be purchased with gold at a significant discount.

The main method is to wait for the item to return to the monthly Trading Post rotation and buy it out with Trader's Tender.

1. Open the monthly Trading Post chest in Stormwind (Old Town) or Orgrimmar (Valley of Honor). Your first login of a new month automatically grants 500 Trader's Tender
2. Complete the monthly tasks from the Traveler's Log — they grant an additional 500 Trader's Tender. The monthly maximum is 1000 Trader's Tender
3. Wait for a rotation that features the Savage Blue Battle Turtle. The list refreshes on the first day of every month
4. Speak with the Trading Post vendors (Tww'Va, Aww'Va, Mizzix, and others) and buy out the mount for 500 Trader's Tender
5. If you are short on currency in the current month, freeze the item with the lock icon — it will stay in your showcase until the next rotation

The entire Trading Post economy is built around accumulating Trader's Tender. Understanding the cap and the sources of currency is the key to buying the mount in a single month.

The 1000 Trader's Tender cap means that a mount costing 500 units is half of the monthly earnings. With careful planning you obtain it in a single cycle, with no need to wait for a return the following year.

The Traveler's Log is a list of monthly tasks that grants the remaining 500 Trader's Tender. The tasks refresh on the first day of the month along with the Trading Post rotation.

1. Open the Traveler's Log window on the Guides tab (the default hotkey is Shift+J)
2. Review the task list — there are usually 18–20 entries of varying difficulty
3. Complete tasks, each of which grants progress points. Filling the bar completely takes about 8–12 tasks
4. Track your progress on the bar at the top of the window — at 100% the final Trader's Tender is granted
5. Claim the bonus cosmetic item of the month for filling the bar (it has no effect on the availability of the Savage Blue Battle Turtle)

Easy Tasks for Quick Progress

• Killing raid and dungeon bosses from previous expansions
• Gathering profession resources — herbs, ore, fish, hides
• Completing world quests in any current region
• Taking part in holiday events, if the month coincides with an in-game holiday
• Short PvP sessions in battlegrounds and the arena

The Trading Post rotation changes every month, and the Savage Blue Battle Turtle is not always available. When it is absent from the current showcase, there are several options.

• Accumulate Trader's Tender every month — the carried-over balance does not expire. Over a few months you will build up a significant reserve by the time it returns
• Check the showcase on the first day — the rotation refreshes at 00:01 server time. Look at the list right away so you do not miss its appearance
• Watch for news about "Bonus Sales" — the Trading Post anniversary events in February bring back old items at a gold discount. That is exactly how the turtle became available again in February 2026
• Freeze the item — if it appears but you are short on Trader's Tender, the lock icon will reserve the slot until the next cycle
