Savage Raptor
Overview

Savage Raptor is a rare epic ground mount added in patch 4.1.0 of the Cataclysm expansion. The mount is obtained by redeeming a promo code from a loot card of the World of Warcraft TCG collectible card game from the War of the Elements set. Only about 2% of players own this mount, placing it among the rarest means of transport in the game.
Visually, the Savage Raptor is a large predatory raptor with a saddle, colored in red-brown tones. Its model is based on King Mosh — the famous devilsaur from Un'Goro Crater. According to the in-game description, this raptor was the loyal companion of Kanga the Primal — a fallen troll heroine. The raptor's name is unknown, since Kanga only communicated with it in the form of a bear.
Why you want this mount
- Extreme rarity — fewer than 2% of players own the Savage Raptor. Encountering it in the open world is nearly impossible, and it instantly draws attention
- Collector's value — the mount comes from the WoW TCG card game, whose production has been discontinued. New cards are no longer released, and the number of unredeemed codes decreases every year
- Unique model — a large predatory raptor with coloring matching King Mosh's hue. No other mount available through loot cards has a similar model
- Available to all characters — once learned, the mount appears in the collection account-wide
- Can be sold and bought — the item is bound only upon use. Before activation, it can be listed on the in-game auction house or traded to another player
- Counts toward achievements — the Savage Raptor counts toward the collection achievement counter for the number of mounts
How to obtain the Savage Raptor
There are two main ways to obtain this mount: redeem a promo code from a loot card, or buy a ready-made item from another player at the auction house.
Method 1: Redeeming a promo code
The Savage Raptor loot card is part of the War of the Elements set — the thirteenth release of the WoW TCG card game. Card production was discontinued long ago, but unredeemed codes can still be found on the secondary market.
- Purchase a Savage Raptor loot card or an unredeemed promo code. Cards are sold on marketplaces like eBay and in specialized collectible card shops
- Scratch off the protective layer on the card to reveal the 25-digit code
- Log in to your Battle.net account and go to the code redemption section. In the Battle.net app, click your profile name and select "Redeem a Code"
- Enter the 25-digit code from the card and confirm the redemption
- Log in to the game and head to Booty Bay (Cape of Stranglethorn)
- Find Landro Longshot on the dock near the Harbormaster's office building
- Talk to him, select the War of the Elements set, then Savage Raptor, and enter the code you received during online redemption
- Landro will hand you the
Savage Raptor item — use it to learn the mount

Method 2: Buying at the auction house
Since the item is bound only upon use, other players can list it on the in-game auction house. This is the fastest path to the mount, though also the most expensive.
- Open the auction house and search for "Savage Raptor"
- Check the auction house regularly — the item appears extremely rarely
- Be ready for a high price: the cost depends on the server and can amount to several million gold
- After purchasing, simply use the item from your bag — the mount will appear in your collection on all characters
Tips
Verify the code's authenticity — already-used or counterfeit codes are common on the secondary market. Buy only from trusted sellers with a buyer protection system
The auction house is safer than a promo code — if you have enough gold, buying at the in-game auction house is more reliable than acquiring a code from an unknown seller. An auction house deal is protected by the game system
Track prices — use the TradeSkillMaster addon or The Undermine Journal website to monitor the mount's appearance at the auction house and average prices on your server
Consider the region — promo codes are bound to a region (Europe, Americas, Asia). A code for the Americas region won't work on a European account
Reputation with Booty Bay — if your character is hostile to the Bloodsail Buccaneers, the guards in Booty Bay will attack you when you try to talk to Landro Longshot. In that case, redeem the code on another character
Black Market Auction House — the Savage Raptor sometimes appears at the Black Market Auction House. Watch the lots — this is another way to acquire the mount for gold, though bids usually reach the gold cap
