Scorching Valor — How to Get the Mount

Scorching Valor is a striking winged horse engulfed in flames, released for the 2026 Lunar New Year celebration. 2026 is the Year of the Fire Horse in the Eastern calendar, and Blizzard reflected this in the mount's design: a fiery mane, blazing wings, and trails of flame during flight.

The mount was added in Patch 11.2.7 and has been available since January 12, 2026. It can be obtained in two ways — through a subscription or a direct purchase in the Battle.net shop.

Method 1: 6- or 12-Month Subscription (Free)

The most cost-effective option. If you purchase or already have an active 6- or 12-month subscription with auto-renewal, the mount will appear in your collection automatically.

Conditions for obtaining through subscription:

1. Go to the Battle.net subscription page and sign up for a 6- or 12-month subscription.
2. If you already have an active 6+ month subscription with a future renewal date, the mount will be credited automatically.
3. Credit occurs by January 31, 2026.
4. The mount must be activated by July 31, 2026.

Both plans (6 and 12 months) grant identical rewards — there is no difference between them.

Method 2: Purchase in the Battle.net Shop

If a six-month subscription doesn't suit you, the mount can be purchased separately:

• Price: $25 / €25
• Mount page in the Battle.net shop

The purchase is available both through the web version of the shop and through the in-game store.

The mount automatically scales to your character's maximum riding skill. At lower levels (before unlocking flying), it functions as a ground mount. At higher levels, it is a full Skyriding mount with dynamic flight support.

The mount is available to all current and future characters on your account.

Along with the mount, the subscription promotion also grants a battle pet — Smoldering Courage. It is a small fiery horse that stylistically mirrors the mount's design.

Important note: the pet is intended only for WoW Classic (progression servers, currently Mists of Pandaria Classic). It is not available in the retail version of the game.

The pet can also be purchased separately in the Battle.net shop if you don't want to commit to a long-term subscription.

1. Open the Battle.net shop in your browser or through the launcher.
2. Choose one of the options:
   • Subscription — "World of Warcraft > Subscription" section — 6- or 12-month plan.
   • Direct purchase — "World of Warcraft > Shop > Mounts" section — find "Scorching Valor."
3. Complete the payment.
4. Log into the game. The mount will appear in your collection automatically (Mounts section in the Collections journal). If the mount doesn't appear immediately after subscribing, wait until January 31, 2026 — credit may take some time.
5. Summon the mount from your collection or drag it to your action bar.

Subscription is more cost-effective than a direct purchase. A six-month subscription costs roughly the same as six months of monthly payments, but you also receive the mount for free. If you're planning to play for six months anyway, there's no reason to buy the mount separately.

The mount won't disappear. Once obtained, Scorching Valor will remain in your collection permanently, even if your subscription expires or you switch to monthly payments.

Use on any character. The mount is account-bound, not character-bound. All your alts will have access to it automatically starting at level 10.

Don't forget the deadline. The subscription promotion is time-limited — the reward must be activated by July 31, 2026. If you've subscribed but haven't logged in, make sure you do so before that date.

In-game mount description: "Some cannot be contained or broken. The Scorching Valor seeks greatness and serves only those who can serve their calling."
