Started playing back in Pandaria, when the pandaren were still a novelty. Got stuck on Monk because it's the only class where you don't get dizzy after a dash. Tries to manage both tanking and kicking enemies in the face.

Scythe of Elune is an artifact two-handed staff that the Balance Druid wielded in the Legion expansion. It is not the Guardian's weapon: the Guardian received the Claws of Ursoc, while the Scythe of Elune granted the
New Moon spell and suited the intellect and arcane magic of the lunar combat form. The staff has a recognizable silhouette: an elongated, sickle-shaped head echoing the form of a waxing crescent, with a cold silvery-lunar glow running along the blade.
The item's lore is darker than it seems. The scythe was forged by night elves, who added the fang of the wolf demigod Goldrinn to the Staff of Elune, and with that fang the weapon took in his fury. It is the Scythe of Elune that is tied to the appearance of the worgen: its power can both turn night elves into cursed wolves and cleanse them. The description plainly warns that balance and control only temporarily subdue the wolf within.
As a Legion artifact, the staff has long been irrelevant for its stats — the artifact system stayed behind in the previous expansion. Today the Scythe of Elune is valuable precisely as a set of appearances for transmogrification: the unique lunar model and its tints are available to druids who have unlocked this weapon.
The Scythe of Elune is granted over the course of the druid class campaign. In The Dreamgrove — the druids' stronghold — you take the starting quest The Scythe of Elune from the mentor Naralex. A druid can choose any of the three artifacts first, but reaching the Scythe among the first is entirely realistic.
The chain leads far beyond the Broken Isles. From the Dreamgrove you pass through the Emerald Dreamway into Duskwood, then into Deadwind Pass and on to Karazhan tower, investigating the story of the Dark Riders and the worgen curse. Completing the chain, you receive the staff itself and unlock the artifact's base appearance.
To unlock the artifact today, you need a druid character and access to Legion content. The class campaign is easiest to complete through the time-travel system across the Broken Isles, or through the seasonal Legion Remix mode when it is active.
The Scythe of Elune cannot "drop" from a boss or be bought — it is obtained only on a druid through the class campaign, so roll a druid if you want this appearance.
The basic additional tints unlock through artifact progression, so bank artifact power and gather traits — in Legion Remix this goes especially fast.
The hidden appearance unlocks via the item
The Sunbloom — the most beautiful "solar" variant of the staff.
The Sunbloom is crafted by combining two parts:
Seed of Solar Fire and
Pure Drop of Shaladrassil's Sap.
The Seed of Solar Fire is sold by Sylvia Hartshorn in Val'sharah, but only at Exalted with the Dreamweavers faction.
The Pure Drop of Shaladrassil's Sap drops from Archdruid Glaidalis in the Darkheart Thicket dungeon and also requires Exalted with the Dreamweavers.
Raise reputation with the Dreamweavers through Val'sharah quests and Broken Isles dungeon runs — without Exalted the hidden appearance is unavailable.
The battle-hardened appearance is earned through Legion PvP season rewards, so for the full color collection you will have to show up on the battlegrounds too.
