Overview

Shadowskean of the Colossus

Game iconShadowskean of the Colossus is a one-handed dagger added to World of Warcraft in The War Within expansion. It is an agility weapon: it has core stats of agility and stamina along with versatility and mastery, so the model most often ends up in transmogs for rogues, demon hunters, and survival hunters.

Visually, the dagger belongs to the earthen weapon model set from the dungeons of Khaz Algar. The blade is forged from dark faceted stone with a cold blue-steel sheen, and the hilt is wrapped in metal bands — the silhouette comes out heavy and angular, closer to a ritual cleaver than a light stiletto. This look fits well into grim "underground" and "stone" concepts.

The item's quality is rare, so acquiring the appearance is easier than epic loot: normal or heroic dungeon difficulty is enough.

Source

The dagger drops in the The Rookery dungeon — a level 71–80 dungeon from The War Within expansion. The Rookery is located in the earthen capital of Dornogal on the island of Dorn: the entrance is in the northwestern part of the city, on the Keepers' Terrace.

Farming details:

  • The drop source is the dungeon's final boss, the Voidstone Monstrosity. Before it, you need to kill two more bosses: Kyrioss and Stormguard Gorren.
  • Normal, heroic, and mythic difficulties are available, as well as the mythic+ mode. The dagger's appearance unlocks on any difficulty — normal is enough for transmog.
  • The Rookery is a short dungeon with only three bosses; a full run takes about 10–15 minutes.
  • There is no attempt limit: you can re-enter the dungeon as many times as you want until the dagger drops.
  • Each boss uses the shared loot list of its loot zone, so the final boss drops more than just this dagger — the chance for the dagger specifically is diluted across several items.

Who it suits visually

  • It pairs with armor sets from The War Within dungeons that have a stone and earthy texture — the dagger was crafted in the same artistic style as them.
  • It harmonizes with dark leather and mail gear in a blue-gray and steel palette.
  • It looks great in "underground" and "dwarven" concepts thanks to the faceted stone blade.
  • It works as a contrast against bright, light sets — the massive dark silhouette makes the look sterner.
  • A matched pair of two such daggers reinforces the heavy, almost barbaric look for a rogue.

Tips

1

The Rookery opens up as you progress through The War Within story campaign, but with a group you can enter the dungeon earlier, as soon as your level allows.

2

On heroic difficulty, the dungeon can be cleared with companion followers, without gathering a full group of players.

3

The Rookery bosses hit in an area and apply Void effects — stay away from puddles and shards so the run doesn't drag out.

4

The dagger binds when picked up, so you can't pass it to another character — farm the appearance on the hero who needs it, or collect it on a rogue or demon hunter.

5

Check the appearance progress in your appearances collection: once the dagger is credited, you can stop running.

6

If the appearance won't drop for a long time, remember that the final boss drops several different items — be patient and repeat the short runs.
