Overview

Shimmering Aurelid

Game iconShimmering Aurelid is an epic ground and flying mount added in patch 9.2 "Eternity's End" of the Shadowlands expansion. It is a jellyfish-like creature created by the First Ones to protect the Sepulcher of the First Ones. The mount is awarded for the meta-achievement Glory of the Sepulcher Raider, which requires completing 11 special achievements — one for each boss of the Sepulcher of the First Ones raid.

Visually, the mount resembles a semi-transparent jellyfish with shimmering tentacles and a turquoise glow. Its model echoes the aesthetic of Zereth Mortis — the zone where the raid is located. Once obtained, the mount becomes available on all characters of your account.

Why You Want This Mount

  • Guaranteed acquisition — the mount is awarded for an achievement, not a random drop. Complete all 11 sub-achievements and the mount will be added to your collection
  • Unique appearance — a semi-transparent jellyfish of the First Ones with the characteristic glow of Zereth Mortis. The model differs from other aurelids in coloring and detail
  • Ground and flying — the mount works in both modes of movement
  • Soloable — the Sepulcher of the First Ones raid belongs to Shadowlands and can be soloed at level 80. Most achievements can be completed alone
  • Available to all classes — there are no class or faction restrictions

How to Obtain

To get the mount, you must complete the meta-achievement Glory of the Sepulcher Raider. It includes 11 sub-achievements — one for each boss of the Sepulcher of the First Ones raid. All achievements are completed on Normal difficulty or higher.

  1. Unlock access to Zereth Mortis by completing Chapter 4 of the Shadowlands 9.2 story campaign "Secrets of the First Ones" (quest "The Pilgrimage Ends")
  2. Reach the raid entrance — it is located in the eastern part of Zereth Mortis. Use the Ancient Translocator near Haven or fly directly if flying in the zone is already unlocked
  3. Enter the raid on Normal difficulty or higher
  4. Kill bosses sequentially, fulfilling the achievement condition on each of them
  5. The achievements do not have to be completed in a single run — progress is saved between visits
  6. After completing all 11 sub-achievements, the mount will automatically appear in your collection

How to Reach the Sepulcher of the First Ones

The raid is located in the eastern part of Zereth Mortis — a zone added in patch 9.2 of Shadowlands.

Prerequisites

To access the raid, you must complete Chapter 4 of the "Secrets of the First Ones" campaign in Zereth Mortis. The chapter's final quest — "The Pilgrimage Ends" — opens the translocator to the Sepulcher.

Route

  1. Use the portal to Oribos from your faction's capital (Stormwind or Orgrimmar)
  2. From Oribos, travel to Zereth Mortis through the portal available after starting the 9.2 campaign
  3. Fly to Haven in the eastern part of the zone
  4. Climb the stairs on the left and use the Ancient Translocator — it will transport you to the raid entrance

Bosses and Run Order

The raid is divided into 4 wings. Below is the complete list of bosses in run order.

Solo Run and Optimization

The Sepulcher of the First Ones is a Shadowlands raid. At level 90 in Midnight, bosses die quickly and most mechanics can be ignored. However, to complete the achievements you need to carefully watch the conditions — many of them require controlling damage and waiting for certain phases of the fight.

Possible Difficulties

  • Vigilant Guardian — the boss may die before the needed additional enemies appear. Take off your powerful gear or stop attacking, waiting for the automa to appear
  • Skolex — you must guide the boss to the four pylons. If your damage is too high, the boss will die before all pylons are destroyed. Control your damage output
  • Prototype Pantheon — you need to pet 5 corgis during "Wild Stampede". Solo, it can be tricky to keep up with all the corgis while the boss is alive
  • Lords of Dread — the mind-control mechanic may reset the fight during a solo run. Kill one of the bosses before this phase begins
  • The Jailer — Zovaal's mind control may reset the fight if there is no pillar between you and the boss. Watch for pillars in the arena

Class Recommendations

  • Tank specializations — Blood Death Knight, Guardian Druid, Brewmaster Monk are best suited for soloing thanks to high survivability and damage control
  • Classes with immunities — Paladin, Hunter and Mage can ignore dangerous mechanics through Divine Shield, Feign Death and Ice Block

How Much Time It Will Take

A full run of the raid at level 80 takes 20-40 minutes. If you complete all the achievements in a single run, it may take longer due to the need to control damage. If you fail individual achievements, you can return the following week — the meta-achievement progress is saved.

Recommended Item Level

For a comfortable run, gear of item level 560+ is enough. At the current content level, any level 90 character will handle the bosses without difficulty.

Tips

1

Control your damage — the main problem at level 80 is not killing the boss, but not killing it too quickly. Many achievements require waiting for a certain phase or mechanic. Take off some gear or use weak abilities

2

Complete achievements one at a time — if some achievement did not count, don't be upset. Return the following week and try again. Progress is saved

3

Read the dungeon journal — before each boss, open the dungeon journal (Shift+J) to refresh the mechanics in your memory. This will help you understand exactly when the elements needed for the achievement appear

4

Normal difficulty is optimal — all achievements count on Normal difficulty. There is no need to enter Heroic or Mythic — on Normal the bosses have less health and the fight is easier to control

5

Use macros to reduce damage — create a macro to switch to a weak weapon or remove buffs before bosses where damage control is needed

6

Check your access to Zereth Mortis — if you have never completed the Shadowlands 9.2 campaign, you will have to spend 1-2 hours unlocking the zone and the translocator to the raid
