Shu-Zen, the Divine Sentinel

Shu-Zen, the Divine Sentinel is a ground and flying mount added to World of Warcraft in patch 7.3.5 Legion and released on February 12, 2018, to celebrate the Lunar Festival and the Chinese Year of the Earth Dog. The mount looks like a massive statue of a dog clad in gleaming golden armor with jade inlays, brought to life by the light.

The mount is distributed exclusively through the Blizzard Shop. After purchase it instantly joins the collection of every character on the account — regardless of faction, race or class. For now Shu-Zen remains on sale and is not considered a retired or seasonal mount, even though it was originally tied to the 2018 Lunar New Year.

• Unique dog model — WoW has only a few dog mounts, and Shu-Zen stands out among them with its glow, decorative armor and dynamic running animation

• Maximum speed — applies the +60% or +100% bonus on the ground and +150%, +280% or +310% in flight depending on your riding skill
• Account-bound — unlocks on all characters of both factions right after purchase
• No in-game effort required — no need to run raids, farm reputation or collect achievements
• Great as a gift — when purchased on the Blizzard website, the mount can be gifted to another player via their Battle.net address
• Brings collection achievements closer — counts toward all rewards for the number of mounts collected

Step 1. Open the Blizzard Shop

Log into the game on any character. Press the Esc key and select "Shop" — the built-in catalog will open. Alternatively, visit the website under World of Warcraft → Mounts and sign in to your Battle.net account.

Step 2. Find Shu-Zen in the catalog

In the mounts section, type "Shu-Zen" into the search. The mount is marked with a golden sentinel dog icon. Make sure you have selected exactly Shu-Zen, the Divine Sentinel and not a pet with a similar appearance.

Step 3. Choose a payment method

Three payment methods are available:

• Payment by bank card or another method available in your region
• Payment with your Battle.net balance, if it was topped up in advance
• Topping up the Battle.net balance via a WoW Token — bought on the auction house for in-game gold and exchanged on Battle.net for an amount equivalent to one month of subscription

Step 4. Confirm the purchase

After payment the mount appears in the collection instantly. Re-logging is not required. Open the collections window with Shift + P and find Shu-Zen, the Divine Sentinel in the list. It is immediately available on all characters of the account — no matter which faction or class you choose in the future.

Step 5. Add to favorites

Mark the mount with a star in the collection so it joins the "Random Favorite Mount" rotation. This is handy if you want Shu-Zen to appear regularly during quick flights across Azeroth.

• Active subscription to World of Warcraft or paid game time
• Level 10 on the character you want to summon the mount with
• Riding skill of at least Apprentice (for the ground)
• Any faction and class — there are no race, class or specialization restrictions
• Battle.net region — the price (USD / EUR / rubles) varies by region and availability on Chinese servers may differ

Purchase with in-game gold via WoW Token

The most economical way to get Shu-Zen without spending real money:

1. Save up gold to buy one WoW Token — the token's cost fluctuates and depends on the server economic region
2. Buy the token from another player on the auction house
3. Exchange the token in the "Shop → WoW Token" menu for 15 USD / 15 EUR of Battle.net balance
4. Repeat the procedure as many times as needed to accumulate 25 USD/EUR for Shu-Zen
5. Pay for the mount with the Battle.net balance through the shop

In practice it takes about two WoW Tokens for a single mount — this is the only fully in-game way to get Shu-Zen without topping up your account with real money.

A gift from another player

On the mount's page in the Blizzard Shop there is a "Buy as a gift" button. A friend or guild member can pay for the mount and send it to your Battle.net email. This is one of the popular options for a birthday or guild anniversary congratulation.

Special offer on Chinese servers

Historically, Shu-Zen was distributed as a bonus for buying a 6-month subscription on Chinese servers as part of the Year of the Earth Dog celebration (from February 12 to 25, 2018). This promotion was not held in other regions, and currently on Chinese servers the mount is also acquired through the local Blizzard Shop.

• Watch for discounts — Blizzard periodically holds mount sales in the shop (usually around the WoW anniversary, Christmas holidays and major themed events). Subscribe to Battle.net news so you don't miss a discount on Shu-Zen
• Don't buy from resellers without guarantees — third-party sites often offer prices below the official one, but the risk of getting a banned account or not receiving the mount at all outweighs the benefit. Buy only through the Blizzard Shop
• Check your Battle.net region — shop prices depend on the account's region. If you have a European account, payment will be in euros or rubles. You can't change the region to make it cheaper — it is tied to the country of registration
• Use the mount as a pair — Shu-Zen visually matches the foo dog pets from Pandaria. Together they create a themed Pandaren composition
• The mount stays after the subscription ends — once the mount is in the collection, it stays with your account forever. When you resume the subscription, Shu-Zen becomes available to all characters again
• Don't confuse it with pets — the Blizzard Shop also sells pets with similar dog models. Shu-Zen is specifically a mount: it flies and lets you ride it, rather than just walking beside you
• Use it for the Lunar Festival — although Shu-Zen grants no extra bonuses, it is thematically perfect for completing the Lunar Festival holiday in Azeroth and looks great in screenshots by the Pandaria lanterns
