Overview

Battle Gargon Silessa

Game iconBattle Gargon Silessa is a rare ground mount added in patch 9.0.2 of the Shadowlands expansion. The mount summons Battle Gargon Silessa, a red battle gargon and a loyal guardian of the Revendreth vaults.

Battle Gargon Silessa belongs to the gargon family, the heavily armored, fanged predators characteristic of Revendreth. The mount's model stands out with its red coloration. Other gargons in the collection use the same model with different colors.

Why You Want This Mount

  • A unique red gargon coloration, the rarest of all four battle gargon variants
  • Thematically tied to the Venthyr covenant and the zone of Revendreth, capturing the gothic-aristocratic atmosphere of Shadowlands
  • Obtaining it requires upgrading the Mirror Network to Rank 3, clear proof of your work with the covenant
  • Its low drop chance from Forgotten Chests makes the mount a rare and prestigious trophy for collectors
  • Counts toward the overall mount collection total for achievements

How to Obtain

The Silessa Battle Harness has a low chance to drop from Forgotten Chests, found in hidden rooms behind Broken Mirrors in Revendreth. Access to the mirrors is granted only to members of the Venthyr covenant who have upgraded the Mirror Network to Rank 3.

Requirements

  • Covenant: Venthyr (required to obtain it)
  • Mirror Network: Rank 3 (sanctum upgrade through Foreman Flathand in Sinfall)
  • "Repair and Restoration" quest — an introductory quest from Simone in Sinfall
  • Mirror repair kit: Game iconHandcrafted Mirror Repair Kit — purchased from Simone in Sinfall for 10 Infused Rubies
  • To use it on any character: you need 80 renown with the Venthyr

Mount Usage Requirements

  • Character level: 10 and above
  • Riding skill: Apprentice Riding

Step-by-Step Acquisition Process

Step 1: Join the Venthyr Covenant

Upon reaching level 60 (the Shadowlands cap), choose the Venthyr covenant in Oribos. If you are already in another covenant, switch to the Venthyr. As of patch 9.1.5, switching covenants is instant and free.

Step 2: Upgrade the Mirror Network to Rank 3

Head to Sinfall, the Venthyr headquarters. Talk to Foreman Flathand, who is in charge of sanctum upgrades. Upgrade the Mirror Network in sequence:

  • Rank 1: Unlocks the basic mirror network for traveling across Revendreth
  • Rank 2: Adds additional travel points
  • Rank 3: Unlocks access to Broken Mirrors and Forgotten Chests

The upgrades require resources — anima and souls. At max level in current expansions, anima accumulates very quickly.

Step 3: Complete the "Repair and Restoration" Quest

After upgrading to Rank 3, pick up the quest Sanctum Upgrade: Mirror Network from Simone in Sinfall. The quest teaches the mirror repair mechanic: you receive your first mirror repair kit and repair a mirror at coordinates [39.9, 30.3] in Sinfall.

Step 4: Repair Broken Mirrors Daily

  1. Buy repair kits from Simone in Sinfall (10 Infused Rubies each).
  2. Find the Broken Mirrors. Each day, 3 Broken Mirrors are available in Revendreth. They appear in fixed groups across 4 rotations — the active group is the same for all servers in a region and usually changes once a week.
  3. Repair the mirror — use a repair kit by clicking on the Broken Mirror.
  4. Enter the mirror — you will end up in a Forgotten Room beneath the Sanctum of Madness.
  5. Open the Forgotten Chest — check the loot. Besides the Silessa Battle Harness, the chest can drop Venthyr covenant transmog pieces and cloaks.

Important: Each mirror can be repaired and used once per day. That makes 3 attempts per day.

A Possible Teleportation Bug

Sometimes a Broken Mirror sends you to the crypt of the Sanctum of Madness instead of the Forgotten Room. If this happens, return to the same mirror and enter again — the second time the teleport will work correctly.

Broken Mirror Locations

Broken Mirrors appear in Revendreth in groups of 3. There are 4 group rotations. To track the current group, it is recommended to use a WeakAura that automatically shows the active mirrors on the map.

The mirrors are scattered all across Revendreth — in ruins, cellars, on balconies and in secret rooms. A flying skill greatly speeds up traveling between them.

Farming Optimization

Daily Routine

  • 3 attempts per day — repair all 3 available mirrors every day
  • Don't skip days — every day skipped increases the time it takes to get the mount
  • Stock up on repair kits — buy 10–20 at once so you don't have to return to Simone every day

Using Alternate Characters

Each Venthyr alt with a Rank 3 Mirror Network gets its own 3 daily attempts. The item is bound on pickup, but the mount is available account-wide.

Characters Attempts per Day Average Time to Obtain
1 3 2–4 months
2 6 1–2 months
3+ 9+ 2–4 weeks

Saving Infused Rubies

If your character is bound to Nadjia's soulbind, activate her passive bonus for 20% more Infused Rubies so you never run short of resources to buy repair kits.

Tips

1

Outdated content. Shadowlands is an outdated expansion, so at max level in the current expansion you will have no trouble gathering resources and leveling the covenant.

2

Use the Rarity addon. It tracks the number of chests you've opened and calculates the statistical probability of obtaining the mount.

3

Use a WeakAura for the mirrors. A dedicated WeakAura from Wago.io displays the locations of the active Broken Mirrors on the Revendreth map.

4

Don't confuse the gargons. There are 4 battle gargon variants in the game with different acquisition methods. Silessa (red) is the only one obtained from Forgotten Chests.

5

Raise renown to 80. If you want to use the mount on characters of other covenants, raise your Venthyr renown to 80 — after that Battle Gargon Silessa becomes available to all your characters.

6

"Collector's Bounty" event. Watch for the periodic in-game event that increases the drop chance of rare mounts — it may also apply to the contents of Forgotten Chests.
