Get Sinfall Gargon mount
Overview

Sinfall Gargon is an uncommon ground mount from the Shadowlands expansion (patch 9.0.1). It is a massive stone-fleshed carnivorous beast of the Venthyr covenant, threaded with veins of crimson anima glow, one of the many gargons abandoned in Sinfall and awakened by Prince Renathal for his uprising. According to the item description, gargons are devoted companions of the Venthyr, and this specimen is granted only to worthy members of the covenant.
The mount is sold by Chachi the Artiste — the quartermaster of the Venthyr covenant — in the Sinfall sanctum in Revendreth. The purchase becomes available after reaching Renown level 23 with the Venthyr and costs 5,000 Reservoir Anima. Before patch 11.0.2, the mount was hard-bound to the covenant: only active Venthyr members could use it. After the introduction of the warband system, the restriction was eased — upon reaching Venthyr Renown level 80, the mount becomes available to all characters in your warband.
Why you want this mount
- A unique gargon model — a lizard-like predator with a stone back and glowing anima runes. There are no equivalents outside of Sinfall: all gargon mounts are tied exclusively to the Venthyr
- Speed 10 out of 10 — ground speed of +60% or +100% depending on your riding skill, meaning the maximum for ground transport
- The start of the gargon collection — the Sinfall Gargon opens up the line of covenant mounts: next come the
Hopecrusher Gargon and the
Crypt Gargon (a campaign reward) - Available at any time — Shadowlands content remains relevant at level 90 in Midnight. You complete the quests faster than at release and gain Renown in a matter of weeks
- A thematic Venthyr reward — if you are drawn to the gothic style of Revendreth, the mount fits perfectly into a transmog and the overall look of a sinner hunter
- A permanent unlock — once purchased, the mount stays in your collection and remains yours even after switching covenants
How to obtain
Obtaining the Sinfall Gargon is a chain of three steps: joining the Venthyr covenant, accumulating Renown level 23, and purchasing it from the quartermaster.
- Level your character to 60 (minimum) and complete the introductory Shadowlands campaign in Oribos
- Complete the quest Choosing Your Purpose from Tal-Inara and join the Venthyr covenant by accepting Draven's offer
- Complete covenant campaign quests, weekly callings, Torghast tasks, and world bosses to raise your Renown
- Once you reach Renown level 23, head to Sinfall
- Find Chachi the Artiste on the main level of the sanctum next to the Keeper of Renown
- Buy the Sinfall Gargon for 5,000 Reservoir Anima
- Use the item — the mount will be added to your character's collection
Requirements and preparation
Before heading to Chachi the Artiste, make sure all the prerequisites are met. Without active membership in the Venthyr covenant, the vendor will not sell you the mount.
| Requirement | How to check |
|---|---|
| Character level 60+ | The covenant system unlocks |
| Venthyr covenant membership | A bat icon in the upper left corner in Sinfall |
| Venthyr Renown 23 | Covenant window (Shift+J) → "Renown" tab |
| 5,000 Reservoir Anima | Currency in your wallet — Reservoir Anima |
| Apprentice Riding | A basic skill, available to everyone from level 10 |
What to do if you are already in another covenant
Since update 9.1.5, covenants can be switched freely, without penalties. You can switch to the Venthyr, level up Renown, buy the mount, and switch back — the gargon will stay with you forever. To change covenants, approach the corresponding leader in Oribos and choose a new path.
How to reach Chachi the Artiste
Chachi the Artiste stands in the heart of Sinfall — the underground sanctum of the Venthyr covenant, located in the Ember Ward in the west of Revendreth.
- Travel to Revendreth through the Shadowlands portal in Oribos
- Activate the Sinfall flight point (it appears after joining the covenant)
- Descend to the main level of the sanctum — Renathal, the Keeper of Renown, and the quartermasters are located there
- Use a macro for precise targeting of Chachi:
If you have not yet unlocked the flight point, you can reach the sanctum from Castle Nathria — move to the southwest through the story points, or use the covenant ability
Door of Shadows to teleport to the nearest threshold.
Optimizing the Renown farm
Renown level 23 requires approximately 2,300–2,700 reputation units, accounting for the alt penalty. The main way to speed up leveling is to complete all available Renown sources at once.
Weekly sources
- Covenant campaign — the main source: one chapter per week grants 2–3 Renown levels
- Weekly calling — 1 Renown level per completion (available from Renown level 48 of the account-wide boost)
- Covenant Assaults (the "Covenant Assault" quests) — 1 level on the first completion of the week
- The Grand Arena of Artistry — the world boss of the week
- The Twisting Corridors of Torghast (layers 1–8) — Renown for the first completion of each layer
Daily sources
- Quests in Revendreth (especially in Castle Nathria and the Court)
- Soulbind story quests
- Gathering anima throughout Revendreth — it also grants Reservoir Anima for the mount purchase along the way
The catch-up mechanic
When returning to Renown leveling in 11.x, Blizzard kept a "catch-up" cap — the maximum Renown level of past seasons. A character joining a covenant for the first time now gets accelerated progression: the first 40 levels go by in a matter of hours while actively completing the campaign. Set aside time for a weekend — you can effectively close out Renown level 23 in one or two evenings.
Gathering anima in parallel
The mount purchase requires 5,000 Reservoir Anima. That is quite little by Shadowlands standards — significantly less than for Sanctum upgrades.
- Each quest in Revendreth grants 35–75 anima
- Anima chests in the open world — 50–175 units
- Assaults and world bosses — 250+ units per event
- Callings — 250 units per task
If you level Renown and gather anima at the same time, by the time you reach level 23 the sum of 5,000 is usually already accumulated or very close to the goal.
Tips
Do not rush to change covenants — while you are a Venthyr, you have the maximum Renown gain rate and access to all unique rewards. Switching before level 23 will set back your progress on the alternate covenant
Check Chachi's goods list in advance — besides the Sinfall Gargon, he sells transmog items, toys, and an appearance for the Crypt Gargon. Make a list of desired purchases so you do not have to visit the vendor twice
Use the summoning stones in Torghast — the Twisting Corridors grant large portions of Renown for completing layers, and Torghast itself is an excellent source of anima
The mount is bound on purchase — before paying, make sure you really want the mount: it is impossible to refund the anima through the two-hour trade window, and Chachi the Artiste does not support returns
After Renown level 80 — a warband unlock — if your warband has a Venthyr at Renown level 80, all characters on the account will be able to summon the Sinfall Gargon without covenant restrictions
Do not forget about the
Hopecrusher Gargon — this gargon drops from the boss Hopecrusher in the Endmire of Revendreth. While you are leveling Renown, drop by its spawn — it is another gargon for your collection

Started playing back in Pandaria, when the pandaren were still a novelty. Got stuck on Monk because it's the only class where you don't get dizzy after a dash. Tries to manage both tanking and kicking enemies in the face.
