Sky Surfer
Overview

Sky Surfer is a flying disc mount added to World of Warcraft in patch 10.2.7 during the limited-time WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria event. Visually it is an ancient mogu artifact — a golden stone slab hovering in the air thanks to levitation magic. The mount is a color variation of the classic
Disc of the Red Flying Cloud and uses the same flight animation.
According to the in-game mount journal description, the platform is an ancient mogu artifact granted to those who have devoted themselves entirely to the skies. The mount is account-bound: buy it on a single character and it becomes available to all your characters on both factions.
Why You Want This Mount
- Unique design — most flying mounts in the game have wings, but the Sky Surfer is a hovering slab on which your character stands at full height. A striking and rare look
- Mogu aesthetic — the disc is perfect for roleplaying a character in the spirit of the ancient mogu empire, especially with Pandaria transmog sets
- Account-wide — the mount unlocks immediately for every character on your account regardless of faction and class
- Low price — 2,200 Bronze, with a peak yield of up to 80,000 per hour, makes the purchase a formality
- Part of the disc collection — along with the Sky Surfer, two more similar discs are sold at the Infinite Bazaar: the
Golden Discus and the
Mogu Hazeblazer. Each costs the same 2,200 Bronze
How to Get It
The mount is sold exclusively during the WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria event for the event's internal currency — Bronze. After the event ended (August 2024), the mount is temporarily unavailable and is considered retired until a possible return of the Remix mode.
- Wait for an active period of the WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria event or its relaunch. Blizzard developers stated at Gamescom 2024 that they plan to bring back remix events in the future
- Create a Timerunner character on the dedicated Remix selection screen
- Level up your character and farm Bronze until you accumulate 2,200 units
- Head to Hemet Nesingwary XVII in the Infinite Bazaar — the remix's starter hub
- At the vendor, buy the Sky Surfer for 2,200 Bronze
- Use the item — the mount is automatically added to the collection of all your characters in the main game
Where to Find the Vendor
Hemet Nesingwary XVII is located in the Infinite Bazaar — the starter hub of the Timerunning mode, accessible when creating a character in WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria.
- After creating a Timerunner character, you will automatically arrive at the Infinite Bazaar
- If you are already outside the hub, use the hearthstone bound to the location, or a teleport from any Bronze dragon in the Pandaria zones
- In the center of the bazaar, look for the merchant tent with the "Mounts and Toys" sign
- At the counter stands Hemet Nesingwary XVII — a descendant of the legendary hunter, selling mounts, toys, and transmog for Bronze
- Open the purchase window and select the Sky Surfer
Similar Mounts from the Same Vendor
In addition to the Sky Surfer, Hemet Nesingwary XVII sells two other disc mounts of the same model but in different colors. All of them are recolors of the base Disc of the Red Flying Cloud from the original Pandaria.
| Mount | ID | Price | Color |
|---|---|---|---|
| Golden Discus | 213576 | 2,200 Bronze | Golden-yellow |
| Sky Surfer | 213582 | 2,200 Bronze | Sky-blue |
| Mogu Hazeblazer | 213584 | 2,200 Bronze | Fiery crimson |
Collectors usually buy all three discs for 6,600 Bronze, which is less than an hour of farming on a max-level Timerunner character.
How to Farm Bronze
Bronze is the main currency of the WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria event. There are many sources, and efficiency depends heavily on your character's level and current ability set.
The Fastest Methods
- Goat farming in the Valley of the Four Winds — a raid group of 30+ players wipes out huge crowds of Placid Goats and collects 50,000–80,000 Bronze per hour
- Bronze orbs — while flying through the Pandaria zones, pass through the glowing golden orbs. A small one gives 5–10 Bronze, a medium one 12–15, and a large one 30–50 units
- Campaign and story quests — the story chains in each Pandaria zone reward a Cache of Infinite Treasure, which may contain a significant amount of Bronze
Regular Sources
- Daily quests in the Tiles of Endless Summer and other zones
- Scenarios and dungeons — each run rewards a Bronze cache
- Pandaria raids — Heart of Fear, Firelands, Terrace of Endless Spring, Mogu'shan Vaults, Throne of Thunder, Siege of Orgrimmar — all available from level 25 and giving the highest Bronze density over time
- Achievements — many reward one-time bundles ranging from 200 to 5,000 Bronze
Farming Optimization
Character Preparation
- Create several Timerunner characters of different classes — each receives a starter bundle of 40,000 Bronze upon reaching max level
- Gather as many threads and gems as possible to upgrade your gear — the higher your stats, the faster the farming goes
Purchase Strategy
- First buy the mounts and toys that will disappear with the event — they are all marked with a limited-time icon
- If your budget is limited, start with the Sky Surfer — it is a rare disc mount with unique mechanics
- Then pick up the remaining discs of the same model — the Golden Discus and the Mogu Hazeblazer
- Collect transmog sets last — they are pricier, but many can also be obtained in the main game through alternative sources
Cooperative Farming
- Team up in raids of 30–40 people to farm goats — this multiplies the mob kill rate and the amount of Bronze
- Use group-finder channels and WoW Remix Discord communities to coordinate
- Open all the Caches of Infinite Treasure you receive only after upgrading your cloak — the contents scale with item level
Tips
1
Don't miss the event window — WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria ran from May 16 to August 20, 2024. After it ended, the Sky Surfer is unavailable until the remix returns. Keep an eye on Blizzard announcements
2
Buy the mount first — toys and transmog can often be found in the main game, but the unique disc mount is available only here
3
Collect all three discs at once — since they cost the same and are sold by one NPC, there is no reason to postpone buying the other recolors
4
Don't confuse it with the original — the
Disc of the Red Flying Cloud from the original Pandaria (reputation with the Tillers faction) is a separate mount available in the main game
5
Check your collection — after the event, the mount stays with you forever. If you managed to buy the Sky Surfer in 2024, it is already unlocked for all characters and does not require a repeat purchase

Started playing back in Pandaria, when the pandaren were still a novelty. Got stuck on Monk because it's the only class where you don't get dizzy after a dash. Tries to manage both tanking and kicking enemies in the face.
