Soultwisted Deathwalker
Overview

Soultwisted Deathwalker is an epic ground and flying mount added in patch 9.1 "Chains of Domination" of the Shadowlands expansion. It is a howling vortex of tormented souls that only those willing to demonstrate their impressive tolerance for pain and suffering would dare to ride. The mount belongs to the death elemental family and uses a unique greenish color scheme.
The Soultwisted Deathwalker was granted for the achievement Shadowlands Keystone Master: Season Two, which required earning a Mythic+ rating of at least 2000 in Shadowlands Season Two. The season ran from June to November 2021, and once it ended the achievement became a Feat of Strength, and the mount was no longer obtainable by new players.
Why you want this mount
- Rarity and prestige — the Soultwisted Deathwalker confirms that you completed the Mythic+ dungeon challenge at a high level. Statistically, around 12% of players earned the achievement.
- Unique model — the mount is a death elemental with a distinctive green glow. The model is shared among four deathwalker variants, each tied to its own season.
- Ground and flying — the mount works both on the ground and in the air. Travel speed depends on your character's riding skill: +60% or +100% on the ground, +150%, +280%, or +310% while flying.
- Available to all characters — once obtained, the mount becomes available on all characters of the account.
- Collector's value — as a mount with a limited obtainment window, the Soultwisted Deathwalker is one of those means of transport that cannot be acquired in the current version of the game.
How to obtain
The Soultwisted Deathwalker is tied to a seasonal achievement and is no longer available for acquisition. Below is the mechanism by which the mount was granted during Shadowlands Season Two.
- Earn a Mythic+ rating of at least 2000 in Shadowlands Season Two. The rating was calculated based on your best runs of each dungeon on both affixes (Tyrannical and Fortified)
- Upon reaching the threshold of 2000 points, the achievement Shadowlands Keystone Master: Season Two was automatically credited
- The mount
Soultwisted Deathwalker was sent via in-game mail
After the end of Season Two, the achievement moved into the Feats of Strength category, and obtaining it is no longer possible.
Shadowlands Season Two dungeons
To reach a rating of 2000, you had to complete dungeons from the Season Two pool at high keystone levels. The pool included all eight Shadowlands dungeons:
- Theater of Pain — Maldraxxus
- The Necrotic Wake — Revendreth
- Plaguefall — Maldraxxus
- Mists of Tirna Scithe — Ardenweald
- Spires of Ascension — Bastion
- Halls of Atonement — Bastion
- De Other Side — Maldraxxus
- Sanguine Depths — Ardenweald
In Season Two, the Tazavesh: The Veiled Market mega-dungeon was also added to the pool, split into two parts for Mythic+.
The Mythic+ rating system
In Shadowlands Season Two, Blizzard introduced an official Mythic+ rating system for the first time, replacing the third-party Raider.IO addon. The rating was made up of points for each dungeon:
- Each dungeon awarded points based on the level of the keystone completed and the completion time
- Both affixes were counted — Tyrannical and Fortified. The best result gave full points, the second gave 33%
- To reach a rating of 2000, you usually had to complete dungeons at keystone level +15 and above
- The rating was account-wide: the best runs across all characters of the account were counted
Tips
1
The mount has been unavailable since late 2021 — if you did not earn the achievement during Shadowlands Season Two, obtaining the Soultwisted Deathwalker is impossible. Seasonal Mythic+ mounts do not return to the game.
2
Check your achievements — open the Achievements panel (the Y key) and find the "Dungeons & Raids" > "Shadowlands Dungeon" section. If the achievement displays as completed, the mount is already in your collection.
3
Alternative options — if you want a mount from the deathwalker family, check whether achievements from other seasons have been completed. All four mounts are unavailable, but if you played Shadowlands, one of them may already be in your collection.
4
Visual bug — according to player reports, the mount has a long-standing issue with the display of spell effects: the colors of the special effects may differ from what the developers intended. The bug has persisted across several patches.
5
For collectors — the deathwalker family has five color variants in total, including an unused blue variant. Four of them were available as seasonal rewards.
