Get Staff of the Grand Imperator

Staff of the Grand Imperator is an epic two-handed staff added to World of Warcraft with the Warlords of Draenor expansion. It is a weapon for intellect-using classes: mages, warlocks, priests, shamans, druids, and healing monks. The staff's model is styled after the ogre Gorian empire — a massive head of golden metal with a dark gem set in a clawed mount and a carved shaft. Its silhouette echoes the gear of the raid's bosses, so the staff fits well into imperial and "magister" looks.

Today the item is interesting purely as a transmog: its stats have long been irrelevant, and you can obtain it solo in just a few minutes. That makes the staff an accessible target for appearance collectors.

The staff drops from Imperator Mar'gok, the final boss of the Highmaul raid, the first raid of the Warlords of Draenor expansion.

• The raid is located in the Nagrand zone on Draenor; the entrance is in the western part of the zone, roughly at coordinates 34, 38.
• This item drops on Normal, Heroic, and Mythic difficulties; the item level differs across the three tiers, but the model is the same.
• The drop chance from the boss is small, around 5-6 percent, so several weekly runs may be required.
• Loot from Imperator Mar'gok is limited to one drop per week on each difficulty per character.

To get inside, fly to the entrance point in Nagrand or use the Raid Finder for legacy content. At the current level cap the entire raid is cleared solo with ease.
