Overview

Starry Twilight Peafowl

Game iconReins of the Starry Twilight Peafowl is an unimplemented mount from World of Warcraft, discovered by game dataminers in the files of patch 10.2.5 "Seeds of Renewal" (January 2024, the Dragonflight expansion). It is a radiant purple-and-white peafowl with shimmering starry plumage that shares its model with two other peafowls in the series — Game iconReins of the Majestic Azure Peafowl and Game iconReins of the Brilliant Sunburst Peafowl.

At the time of writing (TWW 11.1, April 2026), the mount remains unavailable to players. The item entry appeared in the patch 10.2.5 database but was soon removed, and Blizzard has not returned the mount to the game since. The acquisition source has not been officially announced. For now, the only way to see the starry peafowl is through a model preview on websites.

The Peafowl Series from Patch 10.2.5

The Starry Twilight Peafowl is one of three peafowls sharing one model that were added to the Dragonflight 10.2.5 database. Only two of them reached players, and both are distributed through the Trading Post.

The Game iconAzure Peafowl appeared in the Trading Post rotation in March 2024 and in February 2026. The Game iconSunburst Peafowl went on sale in January 2025 and January 2026. By the logic of the series, the starry peafowl should have become the third Trading Post offering, but Blizzard has still not announced its release.

What the Trading Post Is

The Trading Post is an in-game shop added in patch 10.0.5 in February 2023. Through it, Blizzard sells cosmetic rewards every month for the Trader's Tender currency, which is earned for free by completing in-game activities. The Trading Post is the most likely source of the Starry Twilight Peafowl, judging by the fate of the other two peafowls in the series.

  1. Open the Trading Post interface in Orgrimmar, Stormwind or Dornogal
  2. Trader's Tender is granted monthly — 500 units at the start of each month, plus up to 500 for completing entries in the Traveler's Log
  3. Unclaimed Tender accumulates and does not expire between months
  4. The assortment refreshes every month: mounts, pets, armor sets, toys
  5. If the starry peafowl ever goes on sale, it will most likely cost 600–750 Tender

How to Prepare for a Possible Release

While the mount's status remains uncertain, it makes sense to prepare your account in advance so you can grab it quickly when it appears.

  1. Regularly complete the Trading Post Traveler's Log — this gives a steady flow of Trader's Tender
  2. Build up a reserve of 750–1500 Tender in case a new expensive mount comes out
  3. Subscribe to news feeds that are usually the first to report on the Trading Post rotation
  4. Keep an eye on PTR datamining — status changes for unimplemented mounts often surface in patches before their official release
  5. Install an addon that tracks new Trading Post assortments

Where the Peafowl Series Came From

Patch 10.2.5 "Seeds of Renewal" was released on January 16, 2024 and brought cosmetic rewards tied to winter and spring in-game events. Among the datamined items were three peafowls of the same model in different color variations. Such an approach — releasing a themed trio of mounts with different sources — is not unusual for Blizzard.

  • The azure variant immediately received the "Trading Post" tag and was released in March 2024
  • The sunburst variant initially had "Unknown Source" status and appeared in the Trading Post only in January 2025
  • The starry twilight variant also received the "Unknown Source" mark, but unlike its sibling it was never implemented

Possible reasons for the delay or cancellation include internal Blizzard decisions about rotation, a postponement to future patches, or handing the mount out as part of a major reward (a collector's edition bundle, an achievement reward).

Tips

1

Do not buy third-party services — "boost service" sellers who promise the mount for real money cannot obtain an unimplemented item legitimately. Any offers for the inv_peacockmount_purpleReins of the Starry Twilight Peafowl are a scam.

2

Check Wowhead once per patch — the mount's status changes quickly, and information about its source may appear in the patch notes before the release itself.

3

Collect the series in advance — if you like the model, grab the inv_peacockmount_blueazure and inv_peacockmount_orangesunburst peafowls during their next appearances in the Trading Post. This keeps your collection of the series complete for when (and if) the starry peafowl is released.

4

Stockpile Tender in advance — even if the mount comes out unexpectedly, having 750+ Trader's Tender will let you buy it on the very first day of the rotation without delay.

5

Don't trust rumors about an exact release date — until Blizzard publishes an official mention in the patch notes or preliminary datamine, any "insider" claims about the release should be treated as speculation.

6

Don't confuse it with other Pandaria peafowls — peafowl mounts have existed in World of Warcraft since the days of Mists of Pandaria, but the Starry Twilight Peafowl belongs to the Dragonflight 10.2.5 series and has nothing to do with Pandaria Remix.
