Starspark Netherdrake — How to Get the Mount

Starspark Netherdrake is a collectible flying mount — an armored Netherwing drake with a bright starry coloring. The mount was added to the game with Patch 11.2.5 and is available in the retail version of World of Warcraft.

The only way to obtain this drake is by purchasing the Outland Heroic Pack or Outland Epic Pack from the Battle.net shop. The mount does not drop from bosses, is not tied to achievements, and cannot be bought with in-game currency.

The mount is included in the bundles released for the anniversary edition of Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary Edition. Both bundles have been available in the Battle.net shop since November 18, 2025.

Step 1 — Open the Battle.net Shop

Go to the Battle.net client or visit shop.battle.net and find the World of Warcraft section.

Step 2 — Choose a Bundle

If you only want the mount and other cosmetic items, go with the Heroic Pack. The Epic Pack costs twice as much and only adds a character boost for Classic servers and a month of subscription.

Step 3 — Complete the Purchase

After payment, the mount instantly appears in your mount collection in the retail version of World of Warcraft. No additional steps are required — simply open the mount journal and summon the drake.

In addition to the Starspark Netherdrake, purchasing the Outland Heroic Pack unlocks items for both the retail version of WoW and Classic servers:

• The mount is Warband-bound, so after purchase it is available on all your characters — no need to contact support or activate a code.
• To use the flying mount, you only need to learn the riding skill and reach level 10. No special achievements or quests are required.
• The bundle is not time-limited at the moment, but anniversary edition offers for Classic may be removed from sale in the future. If you like the mount, it is better not to delay.
• Visually, the drake resembles the classic Netherwing drakes from The Burning Crusade expansion, but features unique starry armor and glowing elements.
• If you already grinded reputation with the Netherwing faction for the original drakes, this mount is a great addition to your collection that requires no long grind.

Can I get this mount for free? No. The Starspark Netherdrake is available exclusively through purchasing a bundle in the Battle.net shop.

Is the mount available in Classic? Classic servers receive a separate version — Starshard Netherdrake, which is included in the same bundle.

Do I need an active subscription to purchase? Yes, an active World of Warcraft subscription or game time is required to use the mount.

Can I buy the bundle with gold via WoW Tokens? Yes. You can convert WoW Tokens into Battle.net balance and pay for the bundle with that balance.
