Sulfur Hound's Leash

Sulfur Hound's Leash is a ground mount added to World of Warcraft in patch 10.1.5 "Fractures in Time" of the Dragonflight expansion. It is a sulfur-yellow variant of the core hound model from the Molten Core. In lore, the hound originates from the Azq'roth timeline — a reality in which the Old Gods defeated the Titans and enslaved all life. The mount remains a relevant collection goal in the Midnight patch.

The main way to obtain it is to purchase it from Provisioner Qorra at the Tyrhold Reservoir in Thaldraszus for 3,000 Paracausal Flakes. Alternatively, the mount can drop directly from the shattered reality chest or from Time Rift bosses.

The main path to the mount is weekly participation in the Time Rifts event and accumulating Paracausal Flakes up to 3,000.

1. Reach level 60 and complete the introductory quest chain in Thaldraszus. Dragonriding is recommended for fast travel
2. Arrive at the Tyrhold Reservoir (coordinates roughly 51, 57). It is the central tower east of Valdrakken
3. Wait for a Time Rift to begin — the event launches every hour on the in-game timer. A notification will appear on the map
4. Take part in the first phase: kill mobs, complete mini-tasks, and collect items to fill the Temporal Essence bar up to 7,500
5. Enter the portal that opens and defeat the boss of the alternate timeline. For the kill and completing tasks you will receive Paracausal Flakes
6. Accumulate 3,000 Paracausal Flakes and purchase the Sulfur Hound's Leash from Provisioner Qorra

This is the key part of the guide. To accumulate 3,000 Paracausal Flakes, you need to make balanced use of every currency source.

With steady weekly quest completion and participation in at least a few Rifts per week, the target of 3,000 flakes accumulates in roughly one to two weeks of active play.

In addition to purchasing, the mount can drop randomly from several sources. This lets you save your currency and spend it on other mounts from the same rotation.

• Shattered reality chest — a purple chest that is awarded when you fill the Temporal Essence bar up to 7,500 during a Rift. It has a chance at any of the event's seven mounts, including the Sulfur Hound's Leash
• Time Rift bosses — each of the seven alternate-reality bosses has a chance to drop a themed mount from its timeline. The Sulfur Hound is tied to the Azq'roth Rift (boss — Wrath of N'Zoth)
• Different timelines — the shared mount pool means any Rift can potentially give you the hound you need, though the chance from the themed timeline is slightly higher

The Tyrhold Reservoir is home to eight Time Rift vendors, each responsible for their own alternate timeline. From each one you can buy a themed mount for 3,000 Paracausal Flakes. This is useful to know if you plan to collect several event mounts.

All eight vendors stand together in a small group — you can reach them in a single flight from Valdrakken.

Weekly Cycle

For steady progress it is important to follow a weekly cycle of activities. The reset happens on Wednesday in Europe and Tuesday in North America.

1. On the first day of the week, pick up the weekly quest "When Time Needs Mending" from Soridormi at the Tyrhold Reservoir
2. Each day pick up the daily quests from Chromie in the Bronze Dragonflight area — they give 70 flakes per quest plus small bonuses
3. Take part in at least one or two Rifts per day. 15 minutes of activity yields about 350–500 flakes
4. Once you reach 3,000 flakes, head to Provisioner Qorra and purchase the mount

Transferring Currency Between Alts

If you farm Rifts on several characters, you can buy a Paracausal Pouch from Soridormi for 500 flakes. This pouch is transferable between account characters and returns 500 flakes when opened. This lets you speed up accumulation on your main character through active farming on alts.

Preparing for Rifts

• Arrive at Tyrhold a couple of minutes before the hour so you don't miss the start of the first phase
• Bring at least one mana or speed buff to the group
• Use AOE abilities — each mob grants 2 flakes and fills the Temporal Essence bar faster
• Don't skip the mini-tasks: they grant 30 flakes each and the most essence
