Overview

Swift Albino Raptor

Game iconSwift Albino Raptor is a ground raptor mount with unique white scales and red eyes, added to World of Warcraft with the release of the Battle for Azeroth expansion (patch 8.0.1). Visually it differs from the standard Zandalari raptors with its faded pale coloring and lean silhouette typical of the Drywhisker clan's raptors in the Arathi Highlands.

The mount drops with a small chance (around 5–6%) from the rare enemy Beastrider Kama in the Drywhisker village in the Arathi Highlands. This is a level 51 forest tribe troll who can be attacked by players of both factions — however, for him to appear in the world, your faction must control the zone in the Warfronts system.

Why You Want This Mount

  • Unique raptor model — the only white raptor with this coloring, standing out against the standard raptors of Zandalar and Thunder Bluff
  • Speed 10 out of 10 — the mount grants +60% or +100% movement speed depending on your riding skill and travels at the maximum ground mount speed
  • Account-wide — once obtained, the mount appears in the collection of all your characters regardless of faction
  • Available to both factions — unlike faction Warfront rewards, this mount can be farmed by both the Alliance and the Horde
  • Collectible value — one of the five Warfront mounts in Arathi; completing the whole collection is a popular goal among mount hunters
  • Hassle-free solo farm — at level 80 the rare enemy is killed in a few seconds by virtually any class

The game formally lists level 50 — at level 90 the maximum-level enemy dies in a single touch. However, the correct phase of the Arathi Highlands tied to the Warfronts system is mandatory for the rare enemy to appear.

How to Enter the Warfront Phase

The Arathi Highlands is a special zone: at low levels you see the classic version, and starting at level 50 you switch into the Battle for Azeroth phase, where Beastrider Kama appears. The key mechanism is the War Table in your faction's capital.

  1. Head to your faction's port:
    • Alliance — the War Table in Boralus (Tiragarde Sound)
    • Horde — the War Table in Zuldazar (Zuldazar)
  2. Interact with the War Table and check the "Arathi Highlands" tab. It shows the current phase and which faction controls the zone
  3. If your faction holds control (the patrol phase), fly to the Arathi Highlands — the rare enemies are available
  4. If the enemies hold control — wait for the next cycle (see below) or farm other Warfront rares
  5. For quick travel use the portal from the capital or the Game iconDalaran Hearthstone, if you have the teleport to the appropriate zone activated

Where to Find Beastrider Kama

Beastrider Kama patrols the Drywhisker village in the southeast of the Arathi Highlands. The main spawn point is roughly 65, 71, but the troll moves along a short route, so check several points around the village.

/way #14 65.4 70.9 Beastrider Kama — main point /way #14 67.9 66.5 Beastrider Kama — patrol /way #14 65.8 70.0 Beastrider Kama — patrol

On the way from the Old Guardian Portal you can check the neighboring rare enemies of the same Warfront so you don't have to make a separate trip.

Warfront Cycle — When the Enemy Is Available

The rare enemies of the Arathi Highlands do not respawn daily or weekly. Their reset is tied to the Warfront cycle, which passes through several phases and takes on average 1.5–2 weeks for each faction.

Warfront Cycle — When the Enemy Is Available
Phase
What happens
Can you kill the rares
PatrolYour faction controls the zone, world quests and rare enemies are availableYes
Resource contributionMaterials are gathered for the assaultYes, if you kept control
Siege (scenario)The Warfront scenario opens; upon completion control passes to your factionYes, after the assault is finished
Enemy controlThe zone belongs to the opposing factionNo — wait for a new cycle

Each character can take loot from Beastrider Kama once per control cycle. After the kill, looting again is impossible until your faction loses and then regains control of the Arathi Highlands.

How to Check the Current Phase

  • Open the War Table in Boralus or Zuldazar and look at the Arathi Highlands indicator
  • The in-game calendar also displays the opening of the Warfront scenario

Optimizing Farming on Alts

Since the loot from Beastrider Kama is bound to a character each cycle, the fastest way to increase your chances is to bring as many max-level characters as possible.

  1. Level your alts to at least level 50 so they end up in the correct phase of the Arathi Highlands
  2. Wait for a cycle when your faction controls the Highlands
  3. Take turns entering with each character and kill Beastrider Kama — each roll gives an independent 5–6% chance
  4. In parallel, run the neighboring rare enemies of the Warfront:
  5. When the cycle ends and control passes to the enemies, focus on other weekly activities. Come back when Arathi becomes yours again

Calculating by Chances

At a 5% mount chance per kill:

  • 1 character per cycle: on average 20 cycles (about 30–40 weeks) until the drop
  • 5 characters per cycle: on average 4 cycles (about 6–8 weeks)
  • 10 characters per cycle: on average 2 cycles (about 3–4 weeks)

Your luck may vary by a wide margin — the mount obeys pure chance, with no built-in bad-luck counter.

Tips

1

Check the phase first — going to the Arathi Highlands without your faction's control is pointless. Always start at the War Table

2

Use two characters of opposing factions — the Alliance and the Horde gain control of the zone at different times, so you can catch both cycles on different characters of the account

3

Watch the scenario dates — often the most convenient moment for a kill is right after your faction finishes the assault and enters the patrol phase. The rare enemies are fresh and all characters can take loot

4

Don't expect a guaranteed drop — Beastrider Kama has no bad-luck protection system. Even after 100 kills the mount may not drop; this is normal for Warfront rare enemies

5

Grab other rewards along the way — Beastrider Kama also drops cosmetics and Warfront consumables. If your cycle is active, don't skip the rare enemies on the road

6

Use a guild agent for alerts — addons like Rare Scanner and HandyNotes: Warfront Rares show the current location and status of rare enemies

7

Don't buy boosted services without checking — Beastrider Kama is bound to the cycle, and guaranteeing faster mount acquisition is impossible. Any "chance boost" from third parties is the same farming on alts

8

The mount is account-wide after obtaining — as soon as one character earns the Swift Albino Raptor, it unlocks across the entire account for characters of both factions
