Overview

Swift Armored Vorquin

Swift Armored Vorquin is an epic ground mount added to World of Warcraft in the Dragonflight expansion (patch 10.0.2). It is a massive armored vorquin with heavy plate barding, a battle saddle and black dragon ornamentation.

The mount is purchased for 80 gold from Treysh in The Forbidden Reach or from Tethalash in Valdrakken. Initially in patch 10.0.2 the mount was available only to dracthyr, but with patch 10.0.7 (March 2023) Blizzard opened the sale to all races, provided you reach Exalted with the Obsidian Warders (Alliance) or Dark Talons (Horde) faction.

Why you want this mount

  • Unique vorquin model — vorquins were introduced in Dragonflight as the dracthyr racial mount. The armored epic version stands out with heavy armor, battle barding and a grim color scheme, visually distinct among the ordinary colorful vorquins
  • 10 out of 10 speed — the mount grants +60% or +100% movement speed depending on your riding skill, meaning it travels at maximum ground mount speed
  • Account-wide access — once purchased, the mount unlocks for all characters on your account, regardless of faction, race and class
  • Part of a collection of eight vorquins — alongside it the lineup includes four rare vorquins for 40 gold each and three epic armored ones for 80 gold each. Reaching Exalted with the faction unlocks access to them all at once
  • Nostalgic content — the mount is tied to the Forbidden Reach storyline and the dracthyr, while remaining available at max level. A great reason to return to Dragonflight and complete the vorquin collection

How to obtain

The main path to the mount is reaching Exalted with the Obsidian Warders (Alliance) or Dark Talons (Horde), followed by a purchase from the quartermaster Treysh.

  1. Arrive in The Forbidden Reach via the portal in Valdrakken or complete the starter quest To the Forbidden Reach
  2. Build reputation with the needed faction: daily quests give 450 points, local ones give 150, and activities such as hunting rare enemies and collecting treasures speed up the process
  3. Use the Faction Envoy system in Morqut village: once per day you can choose a faction to gain +10% reputation and an extra daily quest
  4. Reach Exalted status with the Obsidian Warders or Dark Talons. Dracthyr characters do not need reputation
  5. Head to Treysh in Morqut, coordinates roughly 35.6, 59.4 in the Forbidden Reach. Alternatively, to Tethalash in Valdrakken, coordinates 26, 34
  6. Purchase the Swift Armored Vorquin for 80 gold and use the item to learn the mount

How to farm Obsidian Warders and Dark Talons reputation

Both factions appeared in patch 10.0.7 and represent the forces of the outcast dracthyr who returned to The Forbidden Reach. Reputation is earned through activities in Morqut and across the whole zone.

  1. Complete daily quests from Treysh and other quartermasters in Morqut village — 450 reputation points per quest
  2. Finish local quests across the Forbidden Reach map — 150 reputation points each
  3. Use the Envoy system: once per day choose the needed faction at the envoy table in Morqut, gain a +10% reputation bonus and an extra daily quest worth 350 points
  4. Collect treasures — the Treasures of the Forbidden Reach achievement requires finding numerous caches, each of which also grants reputation
  5. Kill rare enemies across the zone — they grant one-time reputation bursts plus a chance at extra items
  6. Use the seasonal Winds of Wisdom buff (+50% experience and reputation with Dragonflight factions) if it is active

Main reputation sources

  • Daily quests — a steady source, 450 points per quest. On average 2–3 dailies per day
  • Local quests — 150 points, refreshed on reset. Completed quickly, especially in a group
  • Rare enemies — one-time bursts, but on a repeat weekly kill they grant less reputation
  • Treasures — one-time, however there are many of them, and altogether this is a serious reputation boost in the first week

Tips

1

Develop both factions in parallel — Obsidian Warders and Dark Talons unlock only on the corresponding faction (Alliance or Horde). If you have characters on both sides, farm reputation on both at once to avoid wasting time

2

Play a dracthyr — if you have a dracthyr character, they do not need reputation. You can buy the mount right away from Tethalash in Valdrakken, and the collection unlocks account-wide

3

Complete the whole collection — after reaching Exalted, buying all eight vorquins will cost 480 gold (4 × 40 + 4 × 80). It is one of the cheapest bulk mount collections in Dragonflight

4

Plan your runs through the Envoy — choose the vorquin faction precisely on the days you intend to complete daily quests. The +10% bonus noticeably speeds up the path to Exalted

5

Don't skip treasures and rare enemies — they grant one-time large reputation bursts, which is especially valuable at early levels before Honored

6

The mount is account-wide after purchase — as soon as one character obtains the inv_kirinmount_bronzeSwift Armored Vorquin, it appears in the mount collection of all your characters, regardless of faction and race
