Tamed Mauler Harness

Tamed Mauler Harness is an epic ground mount added to World of Warcraft in the Shadowlands expansion (patch 9.1 "Chains of Domination"). It is a bluish-teal devourer of the mauler family — a large, four-legged creature of the Maw with a massive maw and spiked armor. The mount uses the same model skeleton as the Rampaging Mauler but in a unique coloration, and it shows that even the wildest devourer can be tamed with a handful of anima and a generous helping of patience.

The main source is Supplies of the Archivists' Codex, the paragon cache of the Archivists' Codex faction in the Korthia zone. The cache is awarded for every 10,000 reputation points after reaching relationship rank 6 with the faction, and the chance for the mount inside the cache is roughly 8%. The path to the mount is a marathon of weekly relic fragment farming and regular Korthia rares.

• A rare devourer in a blue color scheme — among Korthia's devourer mounts it is one of the most stylish: the cool blue-green palette stands out noticeably from its standard dark-purple kin
• Full mount speed — like other ground mounts, it gains +60% or +100% movement speed depending on your riding skill
• Account-wide unlock — once obtained, the mount appears in the collection of every character on the account, regardless of faction and realm
• Part of the Shadowlands collection — required for patch 9.1 achievements and the full set of Korthia rewards, alongside the Soaring Razorwing and the Rampaging Mauler
• PvP-free farming — Korthia is fully soloable at max level, and at level 90 in Midnight all the local rares are easily killed solo

The route to the mount comes down to three stages: unlocking Korthia, raising Archivists' Codex reputation to rank 6, and ongoing paragon farming for caches.

1. Unlock Korthia through the patch 9.1 "Chains of Domination" storyline. To do this, complete the covenant campaign chapter "The Search for Baine" on your main, and then the "Patterns Within Patterns" quest line, which leads from the Maw into Korthia
2. On alts you can skip the introduction: speak to Highlord Bolvar Fordragon in Oribos to gain immediate access to Korthia
3. Find Archivist Roh-Suir in the Keeper's Respite in Korthia and begin the introductory chain for the Archivists' Codex faction
4. Collect Relic Fragment and rarer Korthian relics from rares, treasures, and Korthia mobs. Turn them in to Roh-Suir: every 2 fragments = +1 reputation point
5. Reach reputation rank 6 (about 50,000 points required). After that, for every additional 10,000 reputation you will receive the quest Supplies from The Archivists' Codex
6. Turn the quest in to the quartermaster and receive Supplies of the Archivists' Codex. Open the cache — with a chance of about 8% it will contain the Tamed Mauler Harness

Before you commit fully to the paragon cache, make sure all the preparatory steps are done — otherwise you will lose hours to needless travel.

Korthia is unlocked as part of the patch 9.1 "Chains of Domination" storyline, and there is a separate quick skip on alts.

1. Complete the covenant campaign up to and including the chapter "The Search for Baine" — this unlocks the story's continuation
2. Return to Oribos and pick up the quest "The First Move". It will lead you to Ardenweald and on into the Maw
3. After the "The Battle for Ardenweald" scenario, take the "Patterns Within Patterns" chain from Bolvar — during it Ve'nari opens a portal to Korthia
4. The first 20 one-time quests from Roh-Suir grant a starting batch of reputation points and unlock the main fragment-collection mode
5. On alts: speak to Highlord Bolvar Fordragon in Oribos and take the skip quest. It instantly unlocks Korthia and removes the Eye of the Jailer

How to Unlock Flying in Korthia

Flying in Korthia and the Maw is not part of the standard "Pathfinder" — it is unlocked by a separate achievement. Although flying is not required to farm the mount, it greatly speeds up travel between rares.

• Earn the achievement Unlocking the Secrets by completing a set of quests in Korthia
• On alts flying activates automatically if the achievement is already earned on your main
• Without flying, use the Repaired Riftkey for access to the Rift — additional fragment sources sit there

The path from zero reputation to your first paragon cache takes several weeks, and to a mount drop — potentially months. Proper optimization cuts this time several times over.

Daily Korthia Route

The main task is to get the maximum number of relic fragments every day. There are many sources, but their efficiency varies.

• Kill all available Korthia rares on a loop. Each one drops 1–3 relics, including rare variants that give more catalog points
• Open every visible treasure on the map — many of them contain a Relic Fragment or rare relics
• Farm mobs highlighted by the Resonating Anima Mote — Relic Hunters and Relic Devourers drop fragments almost guaranteed
• Enter the Rift through the Repaired Riftkey — relics drop there even from ordinary mobs, and the elite "Famished Shades" yield a large batch of fragments
• Complete daily assault quests — besides reputation points they often reward relics

Weekly Activities

• At rank 4 and above, Roh-Suir gives the weekly quest Lost and Found — a large portion of reputation and relics
• Patch 9.1.5 allowed Korthia rares to drop relics on repeat kills during the day — help kill rares even if you already had a lockout
• Check the daily Maw assault: it often leads into Korthia and gives extra relics

Multi-Farming on Alts

If you are ready to seriously speed up farming, bring several characters into the routine. Each alt is an independent source of paragon caches.

1. Skip the introduction on the alt via Bolvar in Oribos
2. Level the Archivists' Codex to rank 6 on each alt — this is the longest stage
3. After rank 6, maintain a daily minimum of activities: all rares + a couple dozen treasures = about 500–800 reputation points per day
4. Every 10,000 reputation on each alt means +1 cache and +1 roll for the mount
